Mountain View Homestay

We were in the Deluxe Room. Fairly large room with 1 queen bed and 1 single bed, attached toilet. Magnificent view as you look out of the window, right from your bed. Location is fantastic - less than 1 Km from Kurseong station, which is also the centre of Kurseong town. Good options for food and communication, local sight seeing, transfer etc. The host & hostess were very co-operative and provided reasonably good service.

Little too conjested neighbourhood with schools surrounding the place. Makes the place look busy & hustling - something that one wants to avoid on a vacation.

The owner is a very professional and helpful person. He received me very gracefully and went out of his way to assist me with a major logistical (taxi related) issue at odd hours. I found him to be exceedingly polite and accommodating of the guest's needs as well. The homestay menu is simple and preparation takes a good while but the food is fine - I had egg hakka noodles and a vegetable thali.

Soundproofing is virtually non-existent and while the homestay is situated next to an interior road and not a main one, the noise of street dogs at night is a major sleep disruptor. Also, the mattresses on my bed were very hard.

Property is good and centrally located. Around 10mins walk to Kurseong Railway station and 10mins walk to Eagle’s crag.

The room initially allotted to me had no view. They charged additional amount for Mountain View room.
