Amazibu 302 Amanzimtoti

I am a single mother with 2 children aged 11 and 14, we had the absolute priviledge of spending 13 days at Amazibu the past holidays. This is one of the first times, when I saw the place in person, it was BETTER than the photos :) A definate bonus, is there's SO MUCH packing space, which is a rare find at places in this price range. I also don't mind the pre-paid electricity idea, since this gives you the priviledge of having items like a microwave, washing machine and tumble dryer, with the option then to use this or not .... places in this price range usually don't provide such luxury items on holiday, however with the pre-paid electricity option, you can then decide whether to use these items or not. The hosts where EXTREMELY friendly and really walked the extra miles for us :) even without asking, we were even sent the weather forecast daily. They were always friendly when I had a question or needed assistance, and since they live just down the road from Amazibu, this is very comforting, knowing that if you should need assistance they would be able to come out quickly. They were also very prompt in keys being handed over and collected on the times arranged. The place is ABSOLUTELY STUNNING and we felt right at home since the very moment we entered the premises! The view from the balcony is my favourite part of the whole experience, since once again places in this price range often doesn't even have a seaview! The rooms are spacious, and the 3 of us had more than enough room ( even a 2nd adult would fit in comfortably - for people who have a partner ;) The wifi was also a very convenient plus, having 2 "older" kids with me ;) The beach is literally just down the stairs, by the braai area - you just take a VERY QUICK walk and it is right there :) The braai facilities were also very clean, as well as the unit itself - you can see the people taking care of this place does a great job!

The one bed is a little bit hard, however we used some of the pillows that were there for the chairs outside, and my child using that bed, then said it was softer than their bed at home ;)

Apartment was clean but bed was a bit uncomfortable but the see view from balcony was very nice

Elevator wasn't working and we were on the 3rd floor at least there wasn't a lot of stairs

The fact that we were not informed when making the booking that we had to purchase electricity ourselves. We had to pay a cleaning fee of R 250 but fans in the room were not clean, nor were the windows. The automatic door tag did not work, we reported it but no replacement was available, this meant that we could not gain access via the front door nor via the gate to the beach and braai area. An ex-manager offered that if we get stuck at the door we could phone him and he would let us in. The flat is small (ok in its self) but more than half of the lounge is taken up by a bar? No door on the main room toilet meant every time you had to close the bedroom blinds
