Mitatos "Matthew"

This was our second time staying at Mitatos Matthew and it was as lovely as we remembered. Communication with Giannis was quick and easy and he and his father made us feel very welcome. The property is secluded with two spacious terraces back and front so there is always sun or shade and plenty of room for car parking. There is great attention to detail in the small inside space with a powerful shower which attaches to the wall and doesn't flood the bathroom, lots of hot water, full size washing machine, comfortable, firm bed, coffee machine, kettle and even a teapot. Peaceful view of the sea with no close neighbours but easy walking to restaurants and beaches, it really is idyllic!

There is not much storage space for clothes or bags

Wir hatten das große Glück, dieses außergewöhnliche Quartier für 2 Nächte zu buchen. Das Häuschen ist eine liebevoll, modern und sehr gut durchdachte Unterkunft, in der vor mehr als 100 Jahren der Ziegenhirte gelebt hat. Außen hat man 2 Sitzbereiche vor und hinter dem Haus, einmal in Richtung Hügel schattig am Morgen und vorne hinaus überdacht in Richtung Garten, Straße + Meerblick, wobei die Straße nicht stark befahren ist. Nachts kann man die Sterne sehen. Innenausstattung: alles vorhanden für 2 Personen, 1 breites Bett, Küchenzeile, kleines Bad (mit Waschmaschine), Tischchen. Hier wurde an alles gedacht, sogar Waschpulver + Pflaster liegen bereit. Dankeschön! Das Wasser ist gefiltert und trinkbar. Die Vermieterfamilie ist sehr gastfreundlich, zurückhaltend, herzlich, sehr angenehm und hat uns zur Begrüßung mit Überraschungen empfangen, wie Raki, Saft, Gebäck. Erreichbarkeit: zu Fuß von Moutsouna Bushaltestelle ca. 15min. (Achtung: Busfahrplan + Jahreszeit beachten, im August fuhr 1 Bus pro Tag von und nach Naxos Hafen). Der Vermieter hat uns netterweise mit dem Auto abgeholt, so dass wir die Koffer nicht tragen mussten. Wenn man nach einem Abendessen vom Ortszentrum zum Quartier geht, sollte man eine Taschenlampe mitnehmen wegen der Straße. Ort: Moutsouna ist ein kleiner sympathischer Ort, der zum Entspannen einlädt. Es gibt 2 - 3 Restaurants am Hafen, 1 kleiner Supermarkt und nicht zu vergessen das Jax Donuts Kalymnios, wo auch der Bus hält und wo sich die Ortsbewohner zu Kaffee und wunderbaren Backwaren treffen und man immer nett empfangen wird. Bademöglichkeiten/Strände gibt in und um Moutsouna mehrere. Wir möchten uns ganz herzlich für den wunderbaren Aufenthalt bei den Gastgebern Vater + Sohn für den unvergesslich schönen Aufenthalt im Mitatos „Matthew“ bedanken. Ebenfalls bedanken möchten wir uns bei der sehr sehr netten Dame am Jax Donuts, die uns weitergeholfen hat! Wir haben den Ort und die netten Menschen ins Herz geschlossen. Gerne wieder!

My stay at Mitatos "Matthew" was absolutely wonderful! From the moment I arrived, I felt completely at home. The hosts are incredibly kind and welcoming — truly some of the friendliest people I’ve ever met. I even received some homemade raki from Ioannis’ father and a few delicious snacks, which was such a lovely touch! The accommodation itself is simply charming — cozy, beautifully decorated, and equipped with everything you could possibly need. The property is spacious, with a stunning view of both the sea and the mountains. It’s so peaceful here, the perfect place to relax, unwind, and enjoy nature. I’m beyond happy with my booking and even decided to extend my stay because I loved it so much. A huge thank you to Ioannis and his family for making this such a special experience. ❤️

Il existe des endroits ou l'on se sent comme chez soi alors que cela ne ressemble pas dutout à chez soi. Un petit mitato (ancienne bergerie) restaurée de manière charmante et très pratique. Le maximum dans un minimum mais tout ce qu'il faut pour passer un bon moment. Après un jour ou deux on sait comment cet endroit magique fonctionne et on ne veut plus le quitter ... Une belle vue, un endroit calme et relaxant. Des arbustes et un petit potager qui commence à égayer la place. Ce n'est pas tout, et le plus important peut-être, il y a les hôtes qui sont charmants. Giannis et son papa Matthew qui en venant arroser les plantes aura toujours le temps pour vous si vous le désirez sans être envahissant. Nous avons véritablement apprécié ce séjour. Merci à eux. Il y a aussi les alentours qui sont très beaux, une kantina à Ligaridia ou l'on mange très bien et dans la bonne humeur. Les amateurs de randonnées seront servis et si vous avez un doute ... demandez à Matthew ! Bref un endroit ou l'on retournera avec plaisir.
