Living BX Apartment in City Center

Actually we experienced an error on arrival and had to be moved to a different property which was exceptional. That said, I also saw this property and its lovely / spacious, with lots of balcony space and fantastic for the price. I'll review where we stayed which was another of their properties, further up the hill. This was stunning, spacious, comfortable. We were very pleased as the price was competitive compared to hotel options, it was great to have the freedom to wash and dry clothes, cook and have a little home away from home which felt secure. We were even able to log into Netflix so it was like being at home in terms of comforts. I could say the same for this property too though because as mentioned I did see it even though we didn't stay here.

In terms of the location, it's close but due to Funchal's roads, as a walker, just be aware you have to get taxi's everywhere, it's not walkable! I would have appreciated knowing this beforehand so i will note it for others. If you are staying even slightly in the hills, don't be thinking you can just walk into Funchal because you cant! I imagine driving yourself would also be stressful due to the extremely steep and tight roads. I would suggest relying on Bolt taxis if staying in the hills (which this property is). I wont go too in depth with the error that happened on arrival, because they went out of their way to sort this out for us promptly. However, I would probably mainly say losing the first day of the holiday to sorting this out.. as it was a bit stressful and by the time I moved to the other location all supermarkets were closed so that meant my first day was used doing the things I'd originally intended to do the first night I got there, such as doing a food shop and scoping out Funchal, so that ate into the holiday a little, and I was quite drained and that drained feeling seemed to continue throughout the trip afterwards to be honest, but I did recieve a small refund which I think was towards that 1st night which I appreciated. In terms of helping us regarding that situation I felt they were very fair, and also extended my check out as goodwill on my final day at no charge.

Lovely, very spacious apartment with wide balconies on both sides and nice outlook. Well equipped and a great location - fairly quiet and green but a short walk from the centre.

A few things around the apartment were broken or not working. The floors were not very clean, with crumbs everywhere. The staff were not very communicative, they just didn't respond to messages. Our flight arrived in the evening and was then delayed, so we didn't get here till after 9. I kept asking what the arrangements were for getting into the apartment and most messages were ignored. I finally got the information when we arrived at Funchal airport. It would have been reassuring to have had at least some information earlier.

Het appartement heeft best wel wat onderhoud nodig. Te beginnen bij de buitendeur waarbij deze slecht te openen is. Te weinig glazen en slechte pannen voor het kookgedeelte. Kapotte drukknoppen voor de 2 toiletten. Daarnaast de buitendeur van de kleine slaapkamer die kapot is. Schimmel in de douche en ventilatie die kapot is. Verder loopt de communicatie met de privaat verhuurder slecht en moet je het huur bedrag overmaken via een betaal programma naar de eigenaar dus niet via een creditcard. Mooi zwembad maar 5 kapotte logbedjes voor alle woningen waarbij wij vele dagen met een handdoek op de stenen grond lagen
