The Gatsby 3 Bed Central Penthouse in Whitby - Harbour Views

The location of the property is fabulous everything is right on your doorstep with lovely views of the harbour. It’s a really spacious penthouse apartment very clean and modern with everything provided for your stay.

Not anything direct with the property but parking in Whitby can be tricky and busy at weekends. But it’s to be expected with a popular place.

The location is perfect for us as a family, walking distance from everywhere that we love about Whitby

We noticed a few couple of areas that were not up to standard cleanliness. The sofa in the lounge looked quite dirty in areas. We also found a patch on the carpet and side of the bed in one of the bedrooms that we can only describe as a sick stain.

Excellent location, clean and good facilities.

Front door needs to be looked at - sticking on entry and exit. No instructions for heating, bins, etc. Showers were ok - apartment requires little bit of TLC, however nothing that would spoil a break / holiday. Think it should be mentioned prior to booking that a £200 damage deposit will be taken, (however was refunded within 3 working days of return home).

The property is spacious and very nicely decorated and is in a brilliant location with all of the shops and restaurants and bars very nearby . 3 great sized bedrooms one with en suite and a good size bathroom separate.

The property is perfect IF you are capable of walking 3 flights of stairs and yet another to access the bathrooms as both are on the top floor of this two storey apartment. While myself and my brother managed fine it was a struggle for our elderly mother who has mobility problems and could barely manage all of the stairs in the building let alone the narrow staircase leading up to the bathrooms. This was such a major problem for us that we moved down to the 2 bedroom apartment on the first floor where bedrooms and bathroom were on the same level making log a little easier . Another problem we encountered was with the electronic Yale lock. It worked fine until the batteries ran out of power and then we we unable to access the apartment. After several attempts and many contacts with the property owners my brother just managed to open the door with what little power was left in the battery. The contact with the owner was very poor asking for a photo of the issue when it was clear the battery was running out and this was explained to them. There should be a back up system to ensure this does not happen and batteries are replaced regularly
