The Roost

Lovely owners who did not intrude apart from a chance meeting shortly after arrival. Very cosy space, easy parking right outside, well equipped and fantastic view to fields.

Location ideal for the two events planned. Facilities and space good for two people.

Difficult to find house does need a clear sign at the entrance. No arial on TV therefore no BBC or ITV to watch.

The Roost is located in a lovely village and was relatively easy to find from the directions we were given before arrival. The information pack was most helpful in helping us to access the WiFi, tv etc and offered a number of useful recommended places to visit close at hand. The property itself was self contained and of a good size. We were pleased that there was a fan available to use as the weather was in the mid thirties during our stay.

Unfortunately, we were disappointed that there was no ‘welcome pack’ on arrival (e.g. milk, biscuits etc) as we had travelled a long way from the north-east and have appreciated this warm gesture when staying in other similar properties on Booking.com. There were areas of the property where cobwebs were clearly visible and we were not sure if it had been cleaned from the previous occupants as there was an empty bottle under the bed and a note left on the table. We would have liked to have sat out on the patio furniture in the small garden area and enjoyed the evening sunset but the table and chairs had obviously not been cleaned for some time.
