CROOКED TREE LODGE Belize

The location was stunning and the bedroom very comfortable - it was perfect for birding and like being at a Homestay more than a hotel. Angie the owner and hostess was a marvel and so accommodating with trip ideas, transport, food and lives on the property

The bedroom needed a new shower but the rest of the room was excellent - a seat by the small “crooked tree” lagoon would have been a nice addition.

Sehr gute Unterkunft (nicht nur) für Birdwatcher. Großer Vorteil: kostenlos nutzbares Kanu. Wir waren die einzigen, die es nutzen wollten uns konnten daher 3 mal damit auf die Lagune zum Birdwatching gefahren. Schönes Grundstück mit reichhaltiger Vogelwelt. Schöner Blick auf die Lagune. Wir haben für alle 3 Tage unseres Aufenthalts Frühstück und Abendessen separat dazu gebucht: Schmackhaft und (obwohl nur ein Gang) sehr sättigend. Die Gastgeberin, Angie, hat uns beim Buchen einer Bootsfahrt und eines begleiteten Walks engagiert unterstützt. Die Cabana #5, die wir bewohnten, ist geräumig, freundlich eingerichtet und hat ein bequemes Bett.

Wir haben den Preis für die Mahlzeiten nicht vorab erfragt und waren überrascht, wie teuer das Frühstück ist.

Die Lodge hat eine tolle Lage, unmittelbar an der Lagune. Viele Wasservögel sind schon von dort aus zu beobachten, an einem Morgen sogar ein Jabiru. Angie war immer hilfsbereit, bezüglich Transport, Essen und hat Bootstouren organisiert. Der Bungalow war geschmackvoll und gemütlich eingerichtet.

This is a great lodge in a wildlife conservation area, directly on a lagoon and adjacent to a charming village with a long history. Angie, our host, was welcoming, warm and personable, and flexible in accommodating our plans. We enjoyed canoeing in the lagoon and relaxing in the hammock on our veranda. Breakfasts were wonderful and generous. The location is also a great base for exploring Altun Ha and other attractions nearby.
