Beit Khufu Pyramid Hotel

Amazing view of the great pyramid of Giza from the room and balcony and rooftop. The hotel’s owners and staff were awesome. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome and took time to share about their country and culture. The room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. A nice breakfast is provided on the rooftop and the rooftop is also a great place to watch the sun set over the great pyramid and for dinner.

My experience at this hotel was very positive. The hotel is situated right in front of the pyramids, on a quiet, peaceful street where you can’t hear any traffic noise. My room (deluxe) had a terrace with a spectacular view and was very comfortable and clean. The bathroom was spacious and the towels were of high quality. The bed linen was also of high quality. The staff were very friendly and professional. On the terrace there is a good restaurant with a wonderful view of the pyramids. I have stayed in many hotels in Giza and Cairo (of all categories) and for me this is the best.

Ik ben met mijn dochter van 11 jaar vier dagen in dit hotel geweest en het was heel aangenaam. Schoon, vriendelijk en precies goed. Het is een perfecte plek als je de piramides wilt bezoeken en naar het Grand Egyptian Museum wilt gaan. Je kunt bijvoorbeeld in vijftien minuten naar de piramides lopen en het hotel heeft een taxiservice, waardoor je in ongeveer vijftien minuten bij het museum bent. Het ontbijt is helemaal top en er is ook avondeten beschikbaar. Het uitzicht vanaf het dakterras is fantastisch. Caïro kent veel armoede en ook rond het hotel zie je dat, maar in het hotel voelde ik me als Nederlander helemaal prima. Ik zou er zo weer heen gaan. Ik heb 2 fotos toegevoegd vanaf het dakterras.

De taxirit van het vliegveld naar het hotel (die ik zelf van tevoren had geregeld (dus niet van het Hotel)) was echt een enorme cultuurschok voor mij en mijn dochter. De chauffeur leek op een coureur die door het nachtelijke Caïro scheurde en wij zaten compleet verstijfd in de auto. Denk aan extreem bumperkleven op de snelweg terwijl hij op zijn telefoon zat en probeerde de Super G op het asfalt te zetten. Het was zo bijzonder en surrealistisch dat het bijna niet te beschrijven is. We waren echt totaal overdonderd.

The entrance for this hotel is impossibly situated, it is behind a golf course through tiny gravel streets with hanging poles that often the Ubers will refuse and the walking instructions on all navigation platforms do not work and it takes a long time to get to the place - sometimes putting safety at risk as a tourist. Our rooms were not ready on arrival for a long time and we were constantly being asked when we would check out, including once through our tour guide on a paid tour which was incredibly infuriating.
