Ubud Art Resort by Wedja

Absolutely beautiful grounds and a lovely pool, yoga space, and gardens around the restaurant. Also have excellent customer service

Room itself was dark, could have used a desk, and steps to the bathroom made accessibility an issue. Also the property is about a 20 minute ride from central Ubud so there isn’t much that is walking distance around

I’d visited Wedja before and marvelled at their incredible garden as well as the food in the restaurant, so I decided to take advantage of having some free time and stay at the restaurant’s self-styled Ubud Art Resort. I spent five nights in a deluxe bungalow and loved it. The room was great, inside and out, with a bath for relaxing and a shaded terrace for reading and working. The pool was always quiet, and was lovely late afternoon when the sun had dropped a little. Apart from getting to sample more of Wedja’s menu, one of the perks of staying overnight is being able to wander round the garden before the Instagrammers arrive. Recommended.

Maybe a little far from the centre, but that’s also part of the appeal!

The location of the resort is good and there is a good security when you enter the property.

The place is not maintained for a good stay. We stayed in our own private Mezanine villa, but the stay was as far from pleasant. The whole villa was shaky, there were multiplexes the size of palm crawling in the bathroom. I saw three in my two days stay and I was at a point scared of sleeping or taking a shower. If you need something you have to walk all the way out of resort to request something. The whole bathroom was open, so there were a lot of mosquitoes in the night. Horrible stay.
