At first, I was honestly a bit skeptical when I saw all the excellent reviews. I thought, “There’s no way this place can be THAT good.” Since we were traveling with two small children, I initially looked for accommodations closer to the city center. In the end, however, we chose this apartment—and I’m very glad we did. We arrived late at night at Naples airport, and from early in the morning, Suzi had already been sending us detailed instructions. She is almost annoyingly kind and helpful! When we arrived, she was there waiting for us. Finding the apartment was incredibly easy—actually, with all the information she sent us, it would have been difficult to get lost. Face-to-face communication in English was sometimes a bit challenging, but after spending three days in Naples, I realized that many locals are not very comfortable speaking English either. Despite that, we always managed to understand each other perfectly. After our late arrival, we were starving, and Suzi recommended a nearby pizzeria that was about to close. Thanks to her, we managed to catch it just in time and enjoy our very first authentic Neapolitan pizza. What an incredible taste! From what I could tell, the apartment is located right on the edge between the historic center and the outskirts. During the following days, we also tried several other restaurants and cafés recommended by Suzi, and every single recommendation turned out to be excellent. The neighborhood may look a little rough at first glance—and it does have that reputation—but I never felt unsafe, not even for a moment. On the contrary, this area offers something special: the beautiful chaos, the organized disorganization, and the authentic atmosphere that you can probably only find in Southern Italy. Here, you get to see real Neapolitan life happening all around you.

Of course, no place is absolutely perfect. There are a few minor things that I would personally tweak, but they are purely subjective and wouldn’t stop me from booking this apartment again. I shared my feedback directly with the host, who was always open and receptive.
