Magnolia Penthouse

Clean, comfortable and good location . Very grateful for all the fans in this hot weather. Grateful for tea, coffee, sugar and milk although we always take our own.

This is a roomy, excellently furnished and provisioned flat that was exceptionally clean. Good communication with the host before arrival meant I found the parking spot and flat without any trouble (previous reviews suggested it was hard to find - take the first set of steps near the parking space labelled 1-40 Christian square and then follow the numbers to get to the flat). The kitchen was well stocked with equipment and tea, coffee etc, and there were fans in every room (hot summer of ‘26). WiFi worked well. Location was great and we often walked down to the river to feed the ducks, take a boat trip, and we walked to the castle. Biggish Co-op across the road was well stocked but expensive. All in all very good place to stay for a short break in Windsor.

As per previous reviews, the only issues are things that can’t be changed: Noise - Heathrow flights overhead (stop between 11pm and 6am) and a dense neighbourhood. Steps - 4th floor means excellent views but 4 flights of stairs to climb. Water pressure - water has to fight a lot of gravity to get to the 4th floor Heat - it was 30-34°c while we were there and difficult to keep a top floor flat in the full sun cool. Still, we saw beautiful sunsets and moonrises

Clean, comfortable, well-equipped. Excellent kitchen and fans to help with the heat. Good location, easy walk to shops, restaurants, etc. Helpful host.

Outside appearance of development is rather dated. No lift (two ramps and two flights of stairs).

A very central location.

The flat was exceedingly hot. Admittedly we arrived in a heatwave, but many of the windows hardly opened, and being on the top floor of what (we suspect) is a poorly-built Council block, the insulation was inadequate. And the noise from aircraft was astonishing! And we found the term "penthouse apartment" a bit misleading - it's the 4th and top floor flat of an old Council block, up a lot of stairs... But the flat itself has been renovated and equipped to a high standard.
