Ocean & Pool - 2 bedroom Apartment

Le logement était parfaitement propre, confortable et très bien situé. très bien équipé et idéal pour passer des vacances reposantes. La communication avec l’hôte a été excellente du début à la fin, toujours disponible pour nous aider Le quartier est calme, sécurisé et proche des commerces, restaurants et plages.

Location was good, only 10-15 min walk to the central part of Santa Maria. The flat was good value for money, with ample space. Also the pool facilities were great.

Sadly I cannot rate this property any higher. The flat itself was decent and good value for money, however the payment process was as nightmare. Despite the payment method being advertised as "No prepayment needed - Pay at the property", there is nobody on site authorized to take payment in cash or by card, so the host expected us to pay to his private Paypal account or via Revolut. Since this is outside the Booking.com platform, we had no guarantees whatsoever. He did say we could transfer the money once we got to the property, but would not share the access code until the payment was received, meaning that in case the payment was not instantaneous, we would've not been able to access the property. We therefore decided to make the payment in advance, at our own risk. Thankfully the access code was promptly provided after we made the payment, and we did not have an issue in the end; nonetheless, the fact that it's not possible to pay through Booking.com (or upon arrival by card or cash) is the main reason I would not stay at this property again. Other aspects of our stay that were not ideal: only one shower towel each provided, beach towels were not provided, the bracelet required to use the pool is quite annoying and single use (so I had to get an extra one from reception and wear it loose). Lastly, the couch was not in a good state, had stains on it.
