Great location, close to everything we had wanted to see and visit Lovely, comfortable home.

Unfortunately the owner mixed up the dates and was a day out with our arrival. She’d been fixing the shower for a majority of the time and when we arrived, agreed time, she had not been able to complete the cleaning and preparation of the property. She was very apologetic and it wasn’t a major issue, but possibly this wouldn’t have been the case had it been a purely rental property. The owner lives on site, which we weren’t aware of, and takes themselves off for the duration of your stay. Although we didn’t lack any essentials, we found that, as with most rentals, previous guests might leave some cooking essentials like oil, salt etc. this meant we had to buy everything if we wanted to prepare anything at the property. I’m not sure we would have booked knowing that somebody lived there full time. It felt a little uncomfortable knowing this. On our first night we plugged our EV in through a window, not polite I know, but we were really low on charge and just wanted a little charge to enable us to fully charge at an EV charging station the following day. That evening I received a text from the owner asking us not to charge the car at her home, fair enough, but this meant that the neighbor had likely informed the owner as the owner was not staying in the area. That night I had also placed one of the wheelie bins by a back gate that looked out onto an access path. I did this because we didn’t want our two dogs to start barking if they saw people walking around in the access area. By the morning, the bin had been replaced to its original position, meaning the neighbor had unlocked the gate, come onto the property and returned the bin. I was very uncomfortable after this as I felt we “had eyes” on us at all times.

The location was excellent for exploring the Peak District and the Derbyshire Dales. Property was perfect. Clean, comfortable and well located for local shops pubs and take aways.

Nothing
