Loved this cute, quirky little house. Check-In was super easy. It was clean, the bed was comfy, linens were clean and smelled nice. Plenty of hot water and water pressure was on point. Loved that there was a French press available for coffee. We walked everywhere. . . to the levy, ferry, and cute little eateries. We had dinner at Barracuda Taco Stand and then ice cream at The Drift Inn. The butterscotch ice cream syrup was homemade! 🥰 Breakfast at Tout De Suite Cafe was the best. So cute and cozy inside, excellent food. We could hear all of the music from French Quarter Fest while hanging out at the levy. We always try to start in a different area of New Orleans each time we’re in town and we thoroughly enjoyed Algier’s. It’s still so close to all of the action, without the chaos, and a quick ferry or car ride into the quarter. I’d definitely stay here again.

Thank you Melissa for letting us stay in your house for a few days. We really enjoyed it. Nice quite neighborhood. Close enough to the French Quater to explore but not in the noisy part of New Orleans. If you stay here we highly recommend the tacos nearby. The crispy fish tacos are amazing. Would stay here again.

The Busy Bee Shotgun was cute and had a lot of character for a house built in the late 1930s. The owner, Melissa was very helpful and responded quickly to my questions. The house does require some maintenance such as the bathroom does need some work and you feel like you're tilting when using it and the front door should be replaced; you can see the sun coming through the cracks in the panels. The front patio does need some weed whacking and maintenance. The location was further than I had expected as far as walking to catch the ferry. The first night we were there, we heard gunshots a few blocks away and read in the news that someone had been killed and another person injured. The neighborhood itself is quiet with most of the neighbors polite and kept to themselves. However, I would not walk in the neighborhood at nighttime. Parking next to the house made it worth it because it was free and off the street. Overall, our stay was comfortable and quiet.

Parking availability both off/on street. It's a pretty quiet neighborhood, we felt comfortable parking on the street. We could've have been happier with the location of this house! Algiers is a lovely area to stay when visiting New Orleans. We used the ferry each day to go into town. Melissa, our host, provided many helpful suggestions for transportation and restaurant recommendations! I have crossed off my wish for staying in a shotgun house and it was charming and perfect! The house had everything we needed, was spotless and gave that old time vibe I was looking for. Thank you Melissa!
