Guesthouse Fukufuku

The perfect location if you are doing the Kumano Kodo. % mins walk from Kii-Tanabe train station. Spotlessly clean, very comfortable, generous rooms. Everything you need even a washing machine and a sauna.

A great deal for the cost - close to the train station, no permanent staff but allows check-in/entry 24/7. Towels, soap was provided. Communal kitchen and living room made up for the small simple bedroom.

Only 2-3 showers and bathrooms that are all shared, so I’m not sure that it would work if every room was at capacity. The bedroom locks were finicky. And the opaque doors made it awkward with the bedroom across the hall, since we could see other in shadow changing clothes, etc.

Super close to the station, they had a sauna if you wanted to use it. And some small things to buy if necessary.

Sauna was Incred, was clean, lovely

Karaoke starts downstairs at midnight and stops at 6am - not the best when you have to get up for a 6am bus for the komano kodo. Would not reccomenfif that’s what you’re doing. The walls are very thin so it’s as if you’re in the room with the people doing karaoke. They provided ear plugs but really it does not help. I know this is not their fault but none of our room slept at all because of this.
