Apartamento Cervantes

I stayed in the 3rd-floor apartment with my two dogs. The apartment was super clean with lots of windows; I liked the layout. We could hear the neighbors, but it wasn't bothersome. The kitchen had all the necessary implements. The bed I used was very comfy, and the hosts included a sweet amenity kit. There is plenty to do if you enjoy hiking, wine, and history, and parking for our car was easy (although we had to park by the train station a couple blocks away). Despite alerting the host to our arrival time in advance and (as instructed) 10 minutes before we arrived, we had to wait outside the building for about 25 minutes for someone to meet us with the keys, but she was super nice and informative. Villena is a great base for exploring the area.

There is no elevator, so while it was fine for us, this apartment would not be good for people with mobility problems. The shower cubicle is very small. I'm a smaller person and even I found it a bit difficult to maneuver. This is not on the hosts, of course, but there's quite a lot of car traffic, and the drivers are pretty rude (speeding, not stopping for pedestrians at zebra crossings). For that reason, walking around town wasn't super enjoyable with dogs.
