SleepandGo

Affordable single room with a shared bathroom. Hotel is very close to the train station and old city. There are plenty of restaurants and grocery stores nearby.

Windows are not sound proof. It was loud during whole day until very early morning. Fortunately there were ear plugs provided by the hotel.

The one thing you have to recognize about this place is that it is very basic and there is nothing fancy about it. However if you understand that, then it is an excellent place to stay if you are looking for a reasonable place to stay in Zurich with an excellent location, about a 6 minute walk from the train station and right in old town. The beds are comfortable, it is clean, the bathroom and shower are shared with other rooms but they were very clean. They even supplied us with ear plugs because it can get a bit noisy at night on the street. great value

It did not really bother me but we were on the 4th floor and there were no elevators and rather narrow, steep set of stairs if you have a heavy travel bag. Also if it is warm and you need the window open at night it can get loud on the street.

Good value stay in the heart of Zurich.

Please note that there is no elevator, so bear that in mind if you have suitcases.

The location is excellent, easy walking distance from the main railway station. On arrival the staff were friendly and helpful. The shower room was clean and spacious. I didn't have breakfast as I had to leave very early to catch a train.

The main problem was the stairs. My room was up 3 flights, the top flight being very steep and narrow and I am quite old and rather frail. Even going down the top flight to gain access to the tea and coffee facilities was impossible for me. I couldn't carry my hot drink back up to my room as it was only in a paper cup. On arrival a host carried my bags up for me but (understandably) non-one was around at 6am. If I had not been with my daughter I could not have got downstairs!
