Sixpence Cottage

Comfy beds. Spacious rooms. Great to have the washer and drier to keep on top of laundry. Kitchen very modern and everything you need on hand. Relaxing garden area to the back of the cottage. Also, appreciated the tall fans in the bedroom as we had glorious weather. Downstairs loo also very handy when you’re not good on stairs! Gorgeous little gift for us too in the Sheep roll holder. Very kind and thoughtful.

The back patio area was lovely to sit with your morning cuppa but the actual garden needs some work. Very overgrown. I personally loved it but our friends thought it was too wild! On entry to cottage there was a smell of damp but it faded as the week proceeded. After a good airing and general use of heating.

It was close to Pickering centre and pubs and restaurants, a good location for exploring that part of Yorkshire. The garden and patio was a great place to sit and relax. The rooms were beautifully furnished and the bed was very comfortable. The owner was extremely helpful with any queries we had.

There was nothing to dislike.
