Modern 70-square-meter apartment for 4 people, located in the heart of Ortigia, the historic center of Syracuse (ZTL), just a short walk from the main tourist attractions and the marina.
The apartment, with a private entrance, is located on the first floor (a few outdoor steps and two indoor steps to enter). The apartment consists of a kitchen-dining area, a large bedroom with an open walk-in closet, and a bathroom.

The apartment, located in a historic building where the original stonework has been deliberately left exposed, is divided into a living area and a sleeping area.
The historic stone walls enhance the shower and walk-in closet, lending a distinctive and refined touch to the home.
The space is laid out as follows:
- KITCHEN with a 4-burner induction cooktop, refrigerator with freezer, moka pot, dishwasher, electric kettle, microwave, kitchen utensils, wine glasses, dining table, split A/C, and fan;
- BEDROOM with a double bed, a double sleeper sofa, a smart TV, an open walk-in closet (inside the characteristic stone dammuso), and split A/C;
- BATHROOM with shower (inside the characteristic stone dammuso), sink, bidet, and toilet.
ADDITIONAL AMENITIES AVAILABLE TO GUESTS: unlimited Wi-Fi, heating and split-system air conditioning (in the kitchen and bedroom), hair dryer, clothesline, coat rack, iron and ironing board, fan.
PLEASE NOTE: There are two steps inside the apartment at the entrance; one step in the bathroom to access the shower; and four steps to access the walk-in closet in the bedroom.
The entire apartment is for the exclusive use of guests during their stay, and there are no shared spaces with the host or other tenants.
Seven days before arrival, you will receive instructions on how to register your documents via our Guest Portal and pay the tourist tax (4% of the cost of the stay, up to a maximum of €5.00 per person per night, for up to seven consecutive nights).
We need this procedure to verify your information and documents and to send the details to the Alloggiati Web police service, which is the Italian system for registering guests staying in Italy.

Turning the air conditioning and heating on and off is subject to compliance with current Italian regulations (Presidential Decree No. 74 of April 16, 2013, and Ministerial Decree No. 383 of 6.10.2022).
Summer: the average air temperature must not fall below 26°C for all types of buildings.
In winter: the weighted average air temperature must not exceed 19°C. The period during which heating may be used and the daily operating time depend on the climate zone defined by the regulations.
Syracuse Climate Zone B: 7 hours per day from December 8 to March 23.
Check-in will be via online self-check-in; completing registration is MANDATORY in order to receive instructions on how to retrieve the keys and gain access to the apartment.
Keys can be retrieved free of charge via the on-site keybox.
In case of problems, telephone assistance will be available until 10:00 PM.
If you would prefer to have a member of our staff deliver the keys to the apartment, this is possible upon request for an additional fee as follows:
- From 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM: 15.00 euros;
- From 9:00 PM to 11:00 PM: 25.00 euros.

I’ve stayed in a number of places without a receptionist per se, even in Italy. Petra Marina Charming Apartment one was hands down the most frustrating. At one point I even called customer service regarding why I was in a feedback loop. No one answered. I did leave a message, but got no reply. Later, I started over again and did manage to register.
Petra Marina Charming Apartment was a very clean, perhaps charming, and in ways even beautiful place to stay: “the latest” appliances, fancy plumbing fixtures, great shower and “closet” cut out of a stone wall. The down side of some of the newness was figuring out how to use it. We tried hard to understand how to get the towel warmer to work. PMCA seems to offer no info on how to work this particular brand of towel warmer (or this particular brand of induction cooktop, or this particular brand of microwave)…. and an internet search for towel warmer user manuals also offered no help. A text to our local “Team CleanB&B” contact explained that all we needed to do was go in the broom closet and flip a switch! We also had to contact her about opening the door with the single key card we were given. She explained that it was only opening about one time in 10-15 because I pushed too hard, but nevertheless consented to give us a code we could punch a key pad to enter. (The door still stuck, but did open).
