Punduk Villa - The Manta

BEAUTIFUL Bali jungle retreat experience! Very private accommodation with exceptional service upon request, otherwise enjoy your privacy and solitude with spectacular views of Mt. Agung and the rice fields below. We spent a great deal of time choosing our Bali “jungle” experience and it was everything we wanted and expected including coexisting with the surrounding environment. Agus and Team were genuinely mindful of our comfort, pleasure, and privacy.

WORST EXPERIENCE, STAY AWAY! Host is not an honest man. When we arrived he was late. He forgot about the bike. He overpriced bike doubling the price in our previous 5-star hotel. BUT THE WORST PART: VILLA IS VERY DIRTY! Everything in dirt and mold. They don't clean villa properly. There is no service – just a family that rents out the house. Windows are dirty, pool is like a old pond. Garden wasn't touched for months and everything look ugly with old dead leaves. There are insects and rat-fecies of course, but I was ok with that knowing the location and concept of bamboo house. I've contacted booking manager saying that villa needs proper cleaning. Next morning host Agus came (with beautiful gorgeous huuuge golden watch, that are so cool!) to apologies about that and asked how could we resolve this issue. I've taken his excuse and politely asked just to clean the villa and put fresh towels, thats it. We left the villa for the whole day, came right after the sunset. Entered the villa. They have done nothing. Absolutely nothing. Didn't made our bed even, everything was exactly as we left. Next morning we met and he brought his gang with him to be cool. He said they were working so hard, they did everything I asked. I've asked what exactly did they do? He looped in a conversation that they cleaned so hard. At this point I've got that the host is not on the same plane with the world. He asked us to pack stuff and leave. – Villa was great at some point, but with awful cheap management became a rotten dirty house. – 250 per nitgh for this is too much. – Host is unpleasant and lazy. – View is nice. Wake up 20 min before the sunrise. – Everything else is cheap, dirty or not working. Nice concept, bad execution. The worst experience in my life for 1000+$ for 4 nights. Glad we left earlier. 0/10

Every detail has been thought through with care, from the private pool to the elegant interiors and serene outdoor spaces. It felt exclusive yet warm, luxurious yet deeply peaceful. What truly elevates the experience is the exceptional hospitality. The staff are genuinely kind, attentive, and discreet. Every request was met with a smile, and the service was flawless without ever feeling intrusive. You feel not like a guest, but like someone truly welcomed. The food was outstanding — fresh, beautifully prepared, and full of authentic Balinese flavor. Dining with those panoramic views was an unforgettable experience. This is not just a place to stay — it’s a place to disconnect, reset, and feel completely at peace. Whether you are a couple seeking romance, a family wanting a serene escape, or simply someone who values beauty and calm, Punduk Villa – The Mantra is absolute perfection. We would return without hesitation and recommend it wholeheartedly. A genuine 10/10 experience in every way.

We liked everything

The managing team was great and worked to fulfil all of our necessities. The property had a beautiful view and the detail put into it was wonderful.

It’s based in the jungle type area so it was my fault but I never thought there’d be so many bugs and insects coming into the villa and into our bed. Although we kept the doors closed and tried doing our part, the open areas allowed so many insects to come inside. Also, we paid a lot of money for the villa but the food was very average at best

The location,views,food and friendly staff

It is exactly as shown and advertised. Away from city’s hustle and bustle. Close to nature with stunning rice field and Mountain View. You will enjoy solo, as a couple, with friends and even with family. The exterior, the interior, the surrounding, the facilities, the kind and welcoming host and staff, everything is perfect. Will definitely visit again.
