Seabreeze Apt Nice Port

Excellent location, only a short walk from L2 tram. Good restaurants are in walking.distance. Well equipped apartment with cute balcony and comfortable furnitures. The host is nice, and was flexible. You can hear the traffic noise a little bit, but not a deal breaker. I recommend this apartman.

Unbeatable location very near the Port and Old Town, with good restaurants right outside your door and grocery stores and bus and train transportation nearby. Apartment was clean and doors and floors were attractively finished in warm wood. Bed was comfortable, and the air conditioning was nice and cold (important because we arrived during a very hot week and not everything in Nice has a/c). Loreta and Sarah, our hosts, were very nice.

Several maintenance items had been neglected or overlooked when we arrived, and weren't fixed until the day we left. The telephone shower knob was loose and couldn't be hand-tightened, so the handle kept falling down on my head--and there was no rubber mat or grip strips on the very slippery angled stairs leading out of the shower. The door lock was missing screws and was also loose, so one night when we came back we could not get back into the unit (fortunately a neighbor jiggled and pushed the door so we could enter, but then it relocked behind us. We were stuck inside until a maintenance man came the next morning and removed the lock altogether--so we only had the deadbolt holding the door shut until it was replaced on the day we left). The balcony. which looked so romantic in pictures, wasn't really usable or pleasant to be on, as it shares space with the a/c condenser, leftover furniture and pots of dead plants. Plus, the railings were rusted and the shutter was badly weathered and is in need of repainting or replacement. As is common in some older French apartments, there is no dishwasher or dryer. Clothes must be hung on the clothesline off the balcony (which is over the trash pickup area) or on the drying rack in the living room. The floor plan is also a bit funky, as the shower/sink and toilet area (without a sink) are separated by the kitchen. So if you want to wash your hands after using the toilet, you need to do it in the kitchen sink or walk through the kitchen and entryway to the shower/sink area. The elevator is very small and old, and can barely hold two people, and there are several stairs leading up to it. Since it is on the third floor, this unit is definitely unsuitable for anyone disabled or with mobility issues.
