Cosy Beach Cottage - Cawsand

Easy check in, great location.

Location is great

A bit sparse. No washing machine or freezer compartment

Location was perfect. Close to all the amenities in the village and less than a minute walk to the beach. Absolutely spotlessly clean and everything you need for a weekend break.

They weren’t a problem for us but the stairs could be tricky for someone with mobility issues. I can’t say I disliked this feature as they were quirky and we were fine but if I could think of one thing to write it is all I could find!

The location was excellent- just minutes away from the beach and local food outlets Cottage was clean, light and comfortable; good beds and bed linen; good shower and bath; good sized sitting room; kitchen facilities fine for up to 4 people (though lack of ice-box in the fridge could be an issue in hot weather). There is plenty of room in the yard outside for keeping beach equipment, surf boards etc. It was possible to park very close to the cottage and the weekly parking rate is very good value.

The staircase was EXTREMELY steep, and required a rope on the side of the staircase to get up or down the stairs (see photo). It could well be impossible for anyone with ANY mobility problems to access the bathroom or bedrooms; it would also likely be a problem for anyone having to carry infants or children up or down. There is also a real risk of small children falling down the stairs . We recognise that small cottages often have these problems BUT this was not made clear in the description of the cottage when we initially booked. The construction of the staircase was mentioned briefly in the written information when we arrived in the cottage but this could be too late for some guests. It wasn't a problem for us but this issue really needs to be highlighted in the on-line booking information. The central heating was also a problem. The main bedroom worked fine but the other controller did not work and we needed to download an app in order to get heating in the other bedroom or downstairs. We had problems, too, accessing the washing machine which was listed in the description of the facilities. However, mention of a washing machine now seems to have been removed We could not access the upper terrace as the staircase was blocked with large garbage bags
