Highland Chapel

Very quirky mixed with old gothic and contemporary buildings very quiet and only 10 minutes into town via a lovely walk through the cemetery and nature reserve jack the host contacted us on the day of arrival to see if we had settled in ok a nice touch also a nice welcome pack of local produce a nice patio area you can sit outside to enjoy very well equipped kitchen the bedrooms are a good size with one with great views over looking the cemetery .bathroom with a large shower bath great for relaxing all in all a great experience

The only real complaint was that the toilet seats weren’t very well attached but a minor detail glad we took a small car and not my van as the road is quite narrow but to be honest you can unload your stuff quite easily and find a parking place quite easily as well so don’t let that put you off

Very peaceful and comfortable accommodation. We felt very at home and relaxed. Lovely welcome pack of Dorset tea, coffee, chutney, biscuits & granola. Thoughtful ‘extras’ provided like dishwasher & washing machine pods to get you started. Salt, pepper, vinegar, sugar etc. in the cupboard which often isn’t the case. Really liked Roku TV stick with access to streaming apps and your logins wiped when you update your departure date. I’d definitely recommend.

It’s a 20 minute walk to town and harbour which is farther than we normally stay but wasn’t much of a problem. There is a hill on return from town if you have mobility issues. No dedicated parking which is on street but managed to park within 25m every day.

It is a place with a special charm. The old chapel is juxtaposed with a modern home, but it definitely works. The home was designed and equipped with a lot of attention to detail. The views over the former cemetery are unusual, but that made it all the more enjoyable for us.

There was a bit of trash in the hedges – probably left by people walking the park.

Loved how peaceful and quiet it was. The place felt like home, beautifully decorated and furnished with every amenity catered for. We were all impressed with its cleanliness children loved the WiFi connection for their kindles.We were even treated to a fire work display on our last evening as we were heading to bed through the windows upstairs they were towards the beach area high enough to see over the big cemetery trees a real delight. Nothing really, we struggled with tv channels saying no signal for many of them but because of the glorious weather we had we were out 10am till 9pm every day. The only suggestion I would give is a round magnified bathroom mirror on the side of normal mirror at my age 50 I struggled to see putting my mascara on without my glasses on but that's a me problem not a you problem lol 😂note to self to pack one next time. All in all it was an amazing property and we are so glad we chose yours. Thanks Jack (also my sons name).
