Bugs Happen
Our homes are surrounded by nature and beautiful trees, which can occasionally bring uninvited guests — bugs! Because guests come and go frequently, you may occasionally see insects, including roaches known as Palmetto bugs. These are the outdoor type that come from the trees, not the kind associated with dirty homes.
We have professional pest control service every quarter and do our best to minimize their presence, but we can’t completely control nature. Please know we’re doing everything possible to keep our spaces clean and comfortable — and we appreciate your understanding that bugs sometimes happen in Texas!

The communication with the host was quick. The apartment was clean and the instructions from the host were clear.

To summarize: If you have a rental car and need a cheap place and don't really care if it's fancy, this can work for you. If you want something upscale or artsy or in the heart of the action, this is not it.The positives: 1) It was pretty clean.2) There's a washer/dryer and dishwasher.3) We felt safe there.4) Check-in/checkout was easy.5) It was affordable.6) There was enough hot water and towels.Disappointments: 1) The location is 1-2 miles from the part of the city we wanted to explore (S Congress where shops are downtown), which was challenging without a car. This wasn't clear beforehand because the apartment is near S Congress (the street), but that part of it is barren. Also there's no food that's really walkable. **Perhaps that's our fault for not doing more research.**2) Someone or something peed on the couch, and it wasn't us. That rendered it unusable, and overall the space was weirdly configured for hanging out. The bed was shoved against a wall and was very firm, and without a usable couch, it was hard to know where to go.3) Overall dingy space. Felt like a quick flip where someone slapped art on the walls and called it good.
