The apartment was immaculately clean and so well equipped. Everything from washing up liquid, oil, salt to tin foil etc. There were supplies of shampoo and shower cream in the bathroom, plus a really good hairdryer which can be plugged in next to the mirror. We stayed in the apartment with the tulip mural and we had a lovely little terrace overlooking the shaded courtyard. The apartment is in a very busy, pedestrianised street with lots of places to eat and drink. ( Highly recommend Krimo opposite.) Despite being so near to everything, the apartment is set back in the block and is very quiet and peaceful. The Aircon was very welcome although it isn't in the bedroom, if you leave the door open it flows into it. Great shutters at the windows that keep out the morning light and the heat. Everything is walkable but we did get an Uber up to Buda castle ( it was so hot!) and walked down. The Uber was £6. Honestly can't fault this lovely apartment and wonderful host.

Only one small detail would perhaps prefer better pillows as they were a bit lumpy but the bed was super comfy.

Location was excellent, and it was very calm and quiet in the apartment. We appreciated the blinds.

The apartment itself is nice and clean. It has two bathrooms, both equipped with a shower.

The apartment appears on Booking as being on Kazinczy Street, but the directions from the owner took us to Dohány Street. It feels like a “Fort Boyard” adventure to find the place: once you get to the entrance, you face some bars where you need to enter a code, then another locked door. You get inside and already start doubting. You climb the stairs and realize that the first floor is not actually the first floor but some kind of intermediate level. It’s a shared apartment complex that gives you chills, with bars everywhere and rather shady people around. There is no sign whatsoever about the apartment. You call the owner after finding the key box which, surprise, contains four keys. None of the doors matches the photo he had sent. You try to communicate with him in English, but it seems he doesn’t really master the language. After trying all the keys on the door number written on the bunch, none fits. Ten minutes later, in the middle of what feels like a tragicomedy, you notice another door next to it which, of course, opens with one of the keys. You enter a kind of porch surrounded by bars and finally see a door matching the one in the photo. Eureka! Tired, with the kids, you don’t feel like giving up, so you accept the compromise. The apartment itself is nice and clean, but it doesn’t have a balcony as shown in the listing and photos. I understand there are several apartments, but when you choose availability, all the photos are shown, including a balcony. That’s misleading advertising. Bars everywhere. It feels like the energy of the Jewish quarter from the 1940s. Ironically, I chose this apartment because I saw it had a balcony. I feel deceived. I swallow my disappointment and I’m just glad I’m staying only one night.
