Woodfield Retreat

Woodfield retreat were a lovely stay. Comfortable bed. Warm enough, with a beautiful double bath at the bottom of the bed. Great location. Shops, Bar, restaurants, with great walks near by.

Tbf there was nothing you couldn't like. Same as the photos. If I were being picky I would say. They could supply more tea bags, or take your own Also there wasn't a small enough spoon to fit into the tea coffee sugar jars. They could also have a luxury throw on the bottom of the bed instead of a heavy curtain. Large battery candles on the windowsill would have added to the cosy bath look fairy lights in the fire. And one more petty thing the poo room sign. Was a no go for us But was a lovely stay and would return Thankyou

Lovely and unusual room with everything I needed within it, including a toilet in a cupboard and a lovely deep bath. Very comfortable bed.

As I live in the north of Scotland I like to sleep in the cold, so the radiator off at night would have been good. I imagine other clients would prefer it on.

What a fantastic little property! We absolutely loved our stay at The Woodland Retreat. Josie and Tyler have put a lot of effort in to make this a cosy, well equipped room. The bed is super comfortable, along with thick towels and the most amazing bath. (That fills quickly with hot water!) A hairdryer, kettle, glasses, microwave, toaster, all the essentials! The perfect place for a short stay. Super communication from the owners. It is such good value for money. We would definitely stay here again!

Lovely retreat with beautiful furnishings and extra touches. Fabulous roll top bath and a splendid separate roomy toilet. Very nice too, to have a microwave, toaster and little fridge, that I was able to put to good use with the crockery, cutlery & glasses in the cupboard. Very comfy bed. Excellent communications from lovely hosts. I really enjoyed my two night stay and would definitely book again and recommend to others. Ideal location for town centre, buses & trains.

The hosts were very responsive and from the space available in this very small room, have provided lovely comforts, a very cosy space: delightful furnishings. Lovely sheets and bed, and a claw bathtub. The information in the books on the shelf in the toilet were interesting and useful. The buns, butter and milk in the small portable fridge were a nice touch;) The room was warm and the bath was lovely. It is also really close to the main street and relatively quiet. The TV was good, with access to Netflix.

The low score on this review refers to the fact that the information available in the listing did not accurately indicate how small it was. It was very cramped for two people. There is no separate bathroom. It is a toilet in a wardrobe - very cool and unique, important for the toilet to be secluded, but there is no bathroom. The kitchenette is a microwave, kettle, toaster, and mini portable fridge on a set of drawers. It is cute, but there is nowhere to wash up, dish soap, or tea towel . You need to use the small basin next to the bath. Unfortunately there isn't much room for two people, with suitcases in this very nicely decorated room. It was cramped, and the bed was the only place to sit down inside. The images shown in the listing do not include an image of the overall space, only images of various parts. To be transparent of the space, an overall image needs to be included so guests know exactly what the space looks like. If this was the case, and it was made clear there was no bathroom, only a separate toilet, we would have selected a larger space. There is only one coat hanger and limited space to store clothing: no drawers or wardrobe. For guests who typically shower, just note that the bathtub is the only way to wash. This accommodation would suit guests with very little luggage. If you were looking for a kitchenette to have more than beverages and small snacks (such as toast, cereal, etc), this kitchenette would not adequately cater for that.

Location.

Being in a room,which was described as an apartment on Booking.com. Having no separate,or ensuite bathroom. A converted wardrobe in the corner of the room as a toilet ,and a bath at the end of the bed,does NOT constitute an ensuite bathroom. The 'kitchenette' was a cupboard with a kettle and micro- fridge on top. Nowhere to prepare food . There was no table or chairs,so we had to sit and eat on the bed. I could go on.....and on. Private parking ? No. A woodland retreat? No. It's at the side of a main road. All in all,a pretty poor experience . Avoid.

The only thing I can say is that it was alittle smaller than I thought. But didn't bother us. Still loved it

What a lovely little place all contained in 1 room. Spotlessly clean and everything we needed. The bed was super comfortable and we had a great night sleep. We would definitely return when we are back in the area

Loved everything about this gorgeous little room. Comfy bed, decorated beautifully, and the roll top bath was the icing on the cake. Ideal location for Matlock - a short walk, and convenient for day trips to Bakewell and Chatsworth. Would recommend & would love to stay again.

Jodie’s communication was superb and even went above and beyond to arrange for me to put some balloons in the room as a surprise for my wife’s birthday. The room is ideal. The bath was so relaxing (good hot water and fills quickly).
