Large Victorian Townhouse

Overall very positive experience, thought was good value for money, with great location and overall facilities.

No tea towel to dry up after washing dishes. Ideally have 1 towel per person staying. Not much spare toilet roll

Great location in the upper part of Buxton. Close to good pubs and a great indian. Good for four of us to have our own rooms. Slept well depsite creaky bed! Very good heating system and plenty of hot water. Basic but good value just don't expect luxury.

Furniture is a bit random but functional enough. Bedside light broken and in cupboard in my room. A second set of keys would have been useful given there was 4 of us. Plenty of room for 4 but suspect woudl have felt quite cramped for 8.

The house is in a great location, close to the high street and a short walk down to the Pavilion Gardens and the Opera House. Four decent sized bedrooms over 2 floors with a bath/shower room on each floor. We were able to park two cars in the narrow lane behind the property. There was an issue with Booking.com not providing access information, but the hosts quickly sorted this for us when we contacted them direct.

The kitchen only had the bare essentials in terms of crockery and cutlery - a tin opener and a corkscrew would be really useful - and a couple of cleaning cloths.There were only 2 hand towels for 4 of us and the squeaky beds and creaky floorboards mentioned in another review were indeed really noisy. The small lounge and dining room were OK for 4 of us, but would be tight for a group of 6 or 8. The place just felt rather unloved, which could be easily fixed with a few basic touches.
