Lovely cosy gem of a house perfect for Buxton town and walks
We loved our stay at the property. The house is well located to explore both Buxton town with all its lovely history and restaurants. Lots of great walks direct from the house including the cavern. The house itself was very beautifully decorated and cosy. Very easy to find and we found parking simple (it was an icy weekend so we found the council car park a couple of minutes walk the best option and good value). Hosts were really helpful and super responsive. We hope to return soon.

Would highly recommend for large families
Clean and spacious. Lovely decor. Everything we needed
The bedding wasn’t matching the size of the beds

Beautiful house in a great location, but somewhat overshadowed by OTT rules and extra charges
Beautiful, comfortable house very close to the centre of Buxton. Very stylishly decorated and beds were comfortable. Instructions to find the property we're easy and parking on the streets nearby worked out fine.
Lots of rules and extra charges for everything - which kind of ruins the vibe of an otherwise lovely house. The hottub was a significant extra charge (wasnt obvious prior to booking) and we paid for some wood for the fire but it was a very small bag provided (would recommend to bring your own instead). Also bring your own toilet paper as only small amount provided for a large house. Lots of emails from host prior to staying with contracts and rules to sign etc - felt a bit over the top for a two night stay and not had to do this for booking.com properties before. Also there was an additional £250 deposit (not mentioned on booking.com), this accidentally got put onto my account twice. The hosts did cancel one when I pointed it out but takes a couple of days to come through.

Home from home - couldn't have asked for better!
This property was a home away from home. It was so beautifully put together with all the thoughtful final touches other hosts wouldn't think of. We had all the amenities and more available, so it was super easy to cater for ourselves. Apart from a large hike at the three shires waterfall - we barely left the property. It even had the same showers as mine which was delightful! A fantastic place to celebrate turning 40!
The property is an older property with bundles of character, but that also means there's no drive / garage for parking. No biggie, as we found parking for three cars across the road on the other neighbouring streets. We were able to load our cases in front of the property so it didn't inconvenience us.
