Lovely room and bathroom. Great breakfast. Friendly staff. Like the honesty bar.

A warm and friendly welcome from the hotel manageress. A stylishly designed and well furnished hotel very much in-keeping with the history of the inn. Good attentitive service from restaurant staff to the breakfast staff and from the chambermaids to the garden bar staff. The restaurant food was delicious, the pork chop, the scollops, the souffle and probably the best fish & chips I have ever eaten.

What can I say the most amazing place with so much thought having gone into its upgrade. It’s a 14th century inn I believe and the downstairs area has so much charm and character and they also have a wonderful outdoor eating area over 2 levels . The decor is incredible. It’s had such a considered and thoughtful approach to everything. The rooms are all modeled around a famous artist of some description . Our room was the Kipling room and it was gorgeous . Little touches like a welcome box for each room individually packed into “Kipling” box was just so cute . It was impressively clean with everything you could possibly want . A little pile of Rudyard Kipling books in the room prints pertaining to the artist, gorgeous rich colour combinations of cushions rugs etc . This is what a pub upgrade should be . Keep all the charm and add all the modernities that people now expect . Please anyone opening a pub for guests go and spend a night and take notes . Staff were also very attentive and knowledgeable about the pub
