Vermillion Waves Retreat

The checkin and the overall communication with the host was very smooth. The owner was very friendly and gave us lots of recommendations. Thanks to them, we had an amazing dinner at Unaju - an unagi restaurant 10 mins by foot from the property and received sightseeing recommendations that turned out to be invaluable!! The yogibo chairs in the room were my sons favorite. I couldnt peel him off of them. And he loved the pool as well! The room was very clean and had so many things we could use for free - beach towels, board games, several types of shampoos and of firestick TV so we could watch some Netflix in the evening.

The kitchen area is great with lots of cooking appliances but because there are so many, the actual cooking area was a bit small so I had to move things around a bit when cooking breakfast. I wish to stay longer next time so I could try using all those cool things. I mean that was even a bakery machine in there!

Even better than the official pictures and it is so close to Kamogawa SeaWorld with direct access, I took the bus right in front of the building and watched the Orca whale show twice, so much fun it was! The Whale restaurant at WA-O was also a great experience and in walking distance. Better then expected amenities, there is even a Panasonic bread maker machine if you want to wake up to fresh baked bread, just bring your own flour. Odoya supermarket is also in walkable distance. Very well connected to Haneda airport (public bus right in front of the building and then highway bus from Tateyama to Haneda), I expected a tourist beach and instead found a hidden, almost private coastline. Many beach properties promise beach access but very few offer an almost deserted coastline, steps away from the beach, ocean view from breakfast table, surfers in the distance. All peaceful and genuinely quiet. They were kind to allow an early check-in, since I was transferring from their other property Platinum Sylvaire where I stayed the previous days.

The negatives are not on the owner of this property but on Bookindotcom automated system that does a big disservice to this location by marking the nearest supermarket as 34 km away! When actually there is a large Odoya supermarket just 1.5 km away in walking distance! Lawson is also in walking distance 1.5 km! Also because the official address is in Minamiboso city, it doesn't register the fact that this building is actually very close to Kamogawa city, to the point that you can be at the very famous Japan attraction Kamogawa SeaWorld in just 20 minutes by car and bus! There is a hot spring onsen Zekuu just 8 minutes by car. There are also restaurants and cafes within 20 minutes walk, even a real French restaurant on the beach, that are absolutely not mentioned in the Bookingdotcom automated suggestions for what to eat nearby. And when I mentioned this to the owner, they said that they multiple times requested to have this information added but everything is decided by AI and the owner cannot change that information.

特にはありません。 強いて挙げれば、段差があるので気をつけることくらいですかね。

The property was really well done, very thoughtfully, with a lot of details and conveniences for guests. While we didn’t have a car to move around, there were bicycles that helped and the hosts were amazing in guiding us. The beach is superb and very quiet - not crowded at all. Truly a hidden gem as other reviews say.
