Ballyhemlin pods - Blackthorn

The view was lovely, the room was cosy.

Amy greeted my husband and I showed us how the hot tub worked and explained everything we needed she is lovely!! We looked around the pod, and immediately were surprised by a "happy birthday banner" for myself and a wee bottle of fizz! The pods are very clean with a very comfortable bed and a lot of little thoughtful details such as a wee music speaker, skewers for roasting marshmallows, sticks and lighters for the fire pit, robes, slippers and lots of fresh towels. A lovely breakfast basket with cereals, pan au Chocolat, ect , milk and fresh orange juice was provided and well presented. Toaster, toastie maker, microwave, fridge all available. The shower has amazing pressure! Very quiet, secure, private. Beautiful view, hot tub easy to work. Close to Bushmills town, a lovely little booklet with information on tourism, local eateries, shops, ect. All round amazing and thoughtful! Cannot recommend it enough and cannot say enough lovely things!

The sofa bed was a little uncomfortable, however this didn't really impact our stay and I know this is already a priority for the hosts, we arrived in the middle of a heat wave and the pods were very warm! However Amy had messaged us prior to us leaving and we bought a fan with us, although she did offer to get one for us- which is unbelievably kind!

Amazing and welcoming host Amy. Hot tub was brilliant aswell as the pod itself. Mentioned to Amy it was my girlfriend’s birthday and she decorated very nicely.

Our host Amy couldn’t have been more helpful! We were travelling by bike for the NW200 and asked if we could drop our bags off ahead of check in, we ended up not needing to but Amy was happy to accomodate and checked in with us several times to make sure we didn’t need her to meet us with our bag. Really thoughtful and lovely service. The pod itself is well furnished, modern and immaculately clean. No hassle finding the place or getting in. We wish we’d booked 2 nights as by the time we got home from the racing it was a quick dip in the hot tub then off to bed!

We wish the hot tub had been a little more secluded & sheltered as it was a bit windy. But it is early May so that’s to be expected!
