Was a great cultural experience

The hot water didn’t work except in the shower

Loved the location only a few minutes walk from the nearest bus depo which is convinient as there are no nearby trains. Very close to 7/11 and Lawsons for ease of grocery shopping. It is also 10 minutes walk maybe from the pirate ship cruise attraction which was perfect. Regarding the place itself, I do believe using Google maps does not help at night time as you could mistakenly miss the entrance from the main road by the Red Torii Gate. If you go past Lori Guesthouse? on the corner of the street. Walk to the right side of it, there is a pathway to the entrance of the properties. It is also not a house but a 2 storey crate home with a black keybox by the front door which is still nice. Beds were super comfy, loved the 6 person dining table set in our unit. It can be extremely cold but host was nice enough to install AC devices in each room which made it cosy. Plenty of slippers for inside walking around. Loved the kitchen set up with being able to open the windows and there are mesh grates to protect from bugs coming in. Loved the shower room and bathroom access with toilet. Had mostly everything you needed for your stay. Would definitely stay here again. Forgot to take photos of downstairs. Please note this house was the second house from the guesthouse entrance to all 3 properties.

Would have loved being able to wash/dry our clothes from travel. Perhaps more dusting required in some areas mainly the hall way leading up to the second floor. There was dust on the walls. It is not a huge dislike but for the lounge area having tv access would also be lovely for the night time but we felt like you could do alot in Hakone and so it was a necessity. For the price and place itself as well as how lovely the host was to come fix the lounge AC while we were out and about. I would stay here again for sure.

Spacious, close to water.

Very difficult to find in the dark. Google maps showed a photo of a private residence whose door we knocked on thinking it was our accommodation. The unit was very cold upon arrival, we had to turn on the heat. We also had to turn on the hot water. The shower water was hot, but the sink water was still cold.
