Villa Mara Appia antica

The property and gardens were fabulous. Welcome food and drinks were very welcome

The hosts were difficult about our late-ish arrival (9:30). They also arrived before our leavimg time in the morning making it more stressful than it needed to be. The property had many object d'art, so we had to watch the children carefully. One large object had moved, but was not damaged. They believed we had done that. We had not. There was no air conditioning in the main large sitting room. No cereal bowls.

Ich habe meinen Aufenthalt in der Villa Mara in Rom sehr genossen. Es ist ein bezauberndes Refugium mit einem wunderschönen Garten, einem Swimmingpool und einem geschmackvoll eingerichteten Haus. Die Küche ist bestens ausgestattet und im Garten gibt es außerdem einen Grillplatz. Dank der nahegelegenen Bushaltestellen ist das Zentrum Roms bequem zu erreichen. Der Besitzer, Emanuele, ist sehr hilfsbereit und steht jederzeit für Restaurantempfehlungen, Wegbeschreibungen ins Zentrum, Ausflugstipps und vieles mehr zur Verfügung. Ich war mit meiner achtköpfigen Familie, darunter meine drei Enkelinnen, dort. Alle waren von ihrem Aufenthalt in der Villa begeistert. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder. Ich kann die Villa jedem, ob jung oder alt, wärmstens empfehlen. Tadeusz

Alles hat uns gefallen

We were a family of four joined by two relatives for our week stay in April. We all loved our stay at Villa Mara and hope to return some day! It's a spacious, well decorated, comfortable villa. We cooked dinner a few nights (and ordered in one night) which was easy as the kitchen was well stocked. Coffee machine provided so happy days! Absolutely lovely owners - very kind and helpful. The garden is beautiful and well maintained. We took one day off from sightseeing just to enjoy relaxing outside. Great location with easy access via Uber into the centre of Rome.

What a wonderful stay - we had a 7 person family stay over Christmas and there were just so may positives that we’d be delighted to return. For those considering staying, I’d call a few points out: Facilities: the 5 bedrooms are very large and self contained. 3 balconies each separate and nice to sit out on. Two very large living rooms (fire is lovely) and a well stocked kitchen. Garden / pool area is beautiful and well maintained. Hosts: Emanuele just couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful. From first contact right through to the end he was a real Italian gent. Location: it’s not in central Rome (it would be x10 the price if it was!), but it is on the Appian Way which is one of the highlights of Rome and has some interesting places on the doorstep (Catacombs, Parks, Aurelian Walls). Plus, because it is the Appian Way, transport connnections are good.
