Hotel Anco

I have been stranded in amsterdam for 6 days so I was very grateful I could get a hotel room, its right in the red district so I could get out and have some fun until I was stranded. Carl, the manager was really good and professional, I am forever grateful. I have been given breakfast every day (included in price) and you can choose a lot of foods like ham and cheese toastie, banana, apple, granola, cornflakes, yoghurts, fruit reserves, butter, toast or bread, all sort of coffee. The shower is a walk-in shower (I was using a shared one... if I would have paid more for an ensuite room then that has microvave, kitchen etc, I only needed a single room where I was able to sleep for the time being)

It has areally steep stairs which is not good for older couples so I would recommend the upstairs rooms for young and mobile individuals only, though there are some rooms downstairs too which I have not seen.

Small, comfortable, centrally-located hotel. Generous host and a great breakfast to set guests up for a day exploring the city. A lucky short-notice find.

Unavoidable street noise in a city-centre location, but not too disruptive.
