The location is close to public transport and stores. Desk dtaff were very helpful and the property has good shared facilities.

There were a lot of stairs to our room in the third floor and we had heavy suicases. Bit the desk staff very kindly helped with moving the luggages.

This is the most fantastic place to stay in Kyoto. The location is divine: it’s alongside the small rivulet parallel to the kamo river. It’s just far enough from the main hotspots to be quiet, but close enough to walk easily to where it’s all happening. I encourage you to check out a little bar ‘Kyoto beer lab’ which is just downriver. The staff downstairs were so so friendly and helpful, and the amenities were great; easy to wash my workout gear after a run along the river. The room was small- but that’s as advertised! It had a setup with a tatami and futon, and honestly I can’t think of a better way to sleep in one of Tokyo’s most historic cities.

Facilities were exactly as described, really clean in both the room and communal areas.

Clean, pretty room, good location.

No shelves to put things on. No above ground level seating , had to buy a stool for my husband (over 6 feet) to sit on.
