Villa Ocean Whisper

This hotel is perfect, away from the busy road but close enough to walk to restaurants and the beach. The room is spacious, with tastefully chosen furniture. There is a fan, air con, and mosquito net all work. The bathroom is a wet room which is clean and has reliable hot water. The bed is large and comfortable. Outside the room is a beautiful garden which is frequented by peacocks. The host made us a very large breakfast of fruit, eggs, bread and jam, along with tea, coffee and freshly squeezed juice. The host helped us with booking a massage and a river safari (both of which had been quoted as more expensive elsewhere.) You can trust the host to look after you and give you a fair price.

Sanath and Chamila are superb hosts, so welcoming, friendly and helpful, such lovely, genuine people. Our room was huge with high ceilings, light and airy, a comfortable large bed, and lots of space for hanging clothes. Everything newly fitted. The bathroom was also spacious with excellent water pressure and plentiful hot water. There were lots of homely extras like filtered water in our room, and Chamila made us tea when we came back from the beach. Breakfast was absolutely amazing, it kept us going all day. The location is quiet, away from the noise of the main road and the train track. It's less than a 10-minute walk to the nearest beach and restaurants. The hosts have their own tuk-tuk and are happy to arrange transportation. They helped us plan our activities offering useful information and advice. They took us to a nearby turtle conservation centre, to Bevis Bawa's Brief Garden and to the train station when we left. We chose to stay at the homestay for our evening meals. Chamila cooked some wonderful Sri Lankan food for us, which we ate by candlelight on the terrace - beautiful and romantic. This is a stunning new villa with a beautiful garden. It's a wonderful place to stay and relax. We're very much looking forward to returning in the future.

I stayed for 2 nights at this homestay the first time I visited Sri Lanka and celebrated New Year's with the family in 2025, and made sure it was my first place to stay when visiting Sri Lanka 1 month later. The room is VERY spacious, clean, very homely and most importantly has hot water. The hosts Chamila and Sanath are wonderful and kind people, who have classed me as their family. They went way and beyond to accommodate my every need including Chamila cooking amazing evening and lunch meals just to my taste (being a fruit queen, the breakfasts are excellent here too). Chamila accompanied me for morning walks to the stunning (no tourist) beach. If you are in the area and want nature, close distance of the beach with the best hospitality be sure to stay at Villa Ocean Whisper. I certainly will be returning to stay before I leave Sri Lanka :-) Thank you Chamila and Sanath!

De geweldige gastvrijheid van de gastheer en-vrouw,niets was te veel! Een mooie grote kamer en badkamer, een heerlijk ontbijt in de tuin. We werden overal naar toe gebracht met de tuktuk.
