Very good for the price. The location is fantastic, 5 minutes from Piata Universitatii. It has a nice tiny café (Milou) at the ground floor and a very good Romanian restaurant close by (La Copac), but basically it's in short walk distance from everything in the old center. We didnt find any insects. The bedsheets and towels were very clean and smelled good. The bathroom was clean. Tip: if you dont find the toilet paper, look into the cabinets on the hall. There si soap and hair conditioner in the bathroom. there is a good ironing machine. The place is very silent, we didnt hear any car or human during our stay, only the pigeons and the rain.

It's a very old house, it looks like abandoned after war but the room itself is ok. There is a smell of old house, but it is not mold. The view from the window is horrible, The window opens into a tiny, dirty inside yard. It can be that the "old house smell" comes actually from this yard and it might change over time.

The facilities were great

The boiler was a pain it needed a manual restart and it turned off sometime when we were sleeping and we couldn't get it to work again...

The host was super responsive via WhatsApp, and the apartment was an easy walk from the train station. The neighborhood is quiet, with lovely local shops nearby for a morning coffee and a quick bite. While the apartment clearly used to be one larger unit split in two, it had everything I could possibly need. The bed was huge and comfortable, complete with a nice duvet, and the kitchenette was great, including a mini-fridge. The plumbing worked seamlessly (always a plus in an older apartment), with strong water pressure in the shower and a boiler that provided a long lasting supply of hot water once turned on.

The host didn't explain how to use the boiler, and since it works differently than the one I'm used to in my country (usually a switch next to the bathroom door), I had to message them a few times to figure it out. After a few restarts it worked fine for the rest of the trip! Unfortunately, the AC was a major letdown during a late July heatwave in Bucharest. Even set to 17°C in cooling mode, it just blew out lukewarm, stuffy air (likely due to an overdue filter change?) which started making me feel sick overnight. I ended up giving up on it entirely, sleeping with the windows open and just dealing with the mosquitoes. I would have rated this stay much higher if the AC had actually worked.
