Close to airport
Room was big and ac worked.
Easy walk to shops, main road.
It wasn't called Mila boutique airport, it turned out to be Ace Transit hotel. Didn't look like the pictures at all. 1 staff. They charged me extra for early arrival which is fine but I was the only person there and all the rooms were vacant and waiting. Room was full of mosquitoes

This was not a great stay, on the whole. Saving graces:
- the location (very close to the airport)
- budget (very reasonably priced)
- the (sole) staff was pleasant
When we reached the google maps location, there was no hotel. Luckily, our driver spoke to the neighbours and then the hosts, and found out that Mila Boutique Hotel doesn't exist anymore, and we needed to go to the Ace Airport Transit Hotel. (I notice that other recent reviews also mention this.) We weren't informed of this earlier, although the hosts had been in touch with us on Whatsapp to finalize checkin time.
So the rest of this review is pertaining to Ace Airport Transit Hotel (https://www.booking.com/hotel/lk/airport-transit-b-amp-b-katunayake.en-gb.html) (We did try reaching Booking.com to highlight this, but the hosts didn't respond to their request for comment, and Booking.com then closed our ticket.)
The Ace Airport Transit Hotel is clearly a residential property converted to a hotel, with some odd rooms as a result.
- One of the folks in our party received a room with 2 exit doors, one leading outside the property and one leading into the property. The one leading into the property did not have a key, so if they needed to leave their room, they needed to go out of the property, and re-enter through the main entrance of the property. Their attached bathroom had a door which could neither be closed properly nor locked. Their room had broken fittings (photos attached) and was full of mosquitoes.
- Our room didn't have an attached bathroom. The provided bathroom was also full of mosquitoes, with a window that couldn't be closed.
