Villa Grove Shadow

We loved the peaceful location, beautiful swimming pool and, above all, the incredible hospitality of the family who run Villa Grove Shadow. From the moment we arrived we felt genuinely welcomed and cared for. The breakfasts were varied and delicious every morning, with a wonderful mix of fresh fruit and Sri Lankan favourites such as egg hoppers and roti. We also enjoyed a fantastic home cooked dinner at the villa to celebrate my wife’s birthday, which was one of the highlights of our stay. Waking up each morning to peacocks, monkeys and squirrels in the garden was something we’ll really miss. The villa felt safe, relaxing and had everything we needed, including kitchen facilities for preparing meals with our young children when we wanted a quiet evening in. The hosts kindly put us in touch with their brother, Samarajeewa, who drives a tuk tuk, and he made getting around effortless. He was always available when we needed him, took us all over (Unawatuna and Galle) with a smile, and our young children adored him, they looked forward to every journey in ‘the tuk tuk.’ We were fortunate to be the only guests during our stay, so it felt as though we had the beautiful grounds and pool entirely to ourselves. Villa Grove Shadow was the perfect base for our Sri Lankan holiday, combining wonderful hosts, fantastic food, a beautiful setting and an ideal location. We left with so many happy memories and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. If we’re lucky enough to return to Sri Lanka in the future, this will be the first place we look to book!

Het huis en de tuin waren prachtig onderhouden en heel schoon. Het ontbijt was fantastisch en Het personeel ontzettend behulpzaam en vriendelijk.het zwembad is zo heerlijk groot, onze kinderen hebben er enorm van genoten.

Alles! Een 10 op 10 voor deze accomodatie. Een vriendelijke gastheer, een ongelofelijk mooi en proper onderhouden zwembad. Een heerlijk ontbijt met slingerende apen op de achtergrond. Een badkamer in stijl. Een kamer met erg veel ruimte. Een bevriende tuktuk chauffeur bracht ons weg en weer. De wasmachine is ook een extra pluspunt. Maar nog eens: het zwembad met ligweide... waw
