Laman Padi Villa in langkawi

My sister and I spent 11 days in Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur - Penang - Langkawi), spending our last 5 days at Laman Padi Villa to relax. The villa itself is huge, so it felt like a special experience to stay there and enjoy it. Some highlights: the sunsets, getting to see the wild birds flying over the fields (including the Brahminy Kite!), the beautifully designed garden full of amazing plants (the huge Staghorn Ferns growing from the tree trunks were a personal favourite), swimming in the pool without having to share it with strangers or get splashed by random kids, and we even got to see a Red Giant Flying Squirrel/ Flying Fox when walking to the local shop at the top of the road! The staff (Aliff) were always friendly and helpful, and reachable by WhatsApp if we needed info (or to laugh together about the fact my sister and I didn’t realise geckos make noises and so didn’t realise for hours that the sound we kept hearing was them, haha). The villa has aircon and fans, and the kitchen is fully stocked with kitchenware you may need during your stay and a huge fridge (which was kindly stocked with bottled water). The Villa is a little out of the way (which helped with seeing cool wildlife) so we kept a few snacks/light meals in the Villa, but mainly we would get a Grab to tourist attractions and restaurants (Grab is super cheap) so it wasn’t really an issue for us. (Although, we did have a bit of trouble getting to the Villa as Grab doesn’t like the address on Booking.com (I suggest using the Padi eagle fields or shops nearby when coming from the airport and hope you have a nice driver like we did, who called Laman Padi Villa staff for us who were happy to direct him. And then once you’re at the Villa, you can save the Villa or road as a pinned location on the Grab app for future outings. Just be sure you’re not selecting the Villa with a similar name the next road over. )

The villa overall was lovely, and really comfortable to stay in. Whilst it didn’t feel dirty, there were some little areas that may have been missed during the clean before check in, but with the size of the villa and its ability to feel welcoming this really wasn’t a big deal for us.

Everything was perfect. The villa, the pool and the garden. Very spacious and surrounded by beautiful nature. We (family with 2 children)were staying there for a whole week. One thing is to mention: you definitely need a rental car to everywhere. But the place is a good starting point because it is very central. You can get to every place of interest in under 25 minutes by car.

La taille de la maison et la taille du jardin immense ! 2 immense chambres à l’étage et une grande pièce de vie en bas . Une douche à l’étage d’au moins 10m2!

L’odeur quand on rentre dans la maison La chaleur étouffante a l’étage hors chambres où il y a la Clim La piscine et ses nombreux carreaux de carrelage qui se décollent et qui arrachent la peau des pieds jusqu’au sang pour mon mari et ma fille . Invasion de fourmis dans les toilettes du réa de chaussée.
