Gandum Villa Complex - Luxury Boutique Stay Uluwatu

There is a lovely man called Ajit, I hope that's correct, who was fantastic with check in and any other things we needed. The room was spotless and with a great view plus the restaurant had great choices on the menu plus 10% off the bill. Nothing to fault.

Nothing to not like.

Stayed here for 2 weeks with family including grandparents, parents and kids. We stayed in Villa 1 which has 5 bedrooms, a large communal room downstairs with kitchen, pool table and projector. Perfect for family games nights and movies. The onsite restaurant was perfect for us, great prices and selection to keep everyone happy. The staff will happily bring food to your villa so you can truly relax. The pool is clean and large for the property size. The staff are on hand to arrange anything you need, included massages in your room, which we loved so much we did it twice! Wifi is available everywhere at the property. If you're an early bird the sunrise view from the balcony is lovely. At the end of the drive is a nice local restaurant, handy after a day of activities! And a supermarket about a 15min walk away. We loved staying here and hope to come back!

A little far from things, but getting a cab or a bike is easy so not much of an issue.

Gandum Villa Complex has a lot of potential, but the overall experience felt a little rough around the edges. The room was spacious enough, but it lacked the attention to detail and finish that would make it feel truly comfortable. The bathroom layout was also a bit odd—the shower area was open on one side with only a shower curtain separating it from the room, while the WC was located in a separate section. The property doesn't have a proper front desk or reception, so the experience felt somewhere between an Airbnb and a hotel without fully delivering the benefits of either. That said, the staff were genuinely warm, friendly, and always willing to help—they were by far the best part of our stay. The breakfast was also surprisingly good, with a nice selection and quality that exceeded our expectations. One thing to be aware of is the location. While it's technically in Uluwatu, it's quite far from most of the popular restaurants, beaches, and cafés. The drive to the property is through a quiet, isolated stretch that felt a little eerie, especially after dark. Because of this, I probably wouldn't recommend it for solo travellers or anyone planning to be out late in the evenings. Overall, it's a decent stay if you're looking for a budget-friendly, spacious room and don't mind being away from the action. With a bit more polish and a more professional setup, the property could offer a much stronger overall experience.

The location is quite remote, and the road leading to the property can feel isolated after dark. The overall experience also lacked the polish and professionalism you might expect from a hotel.
