About this bed and breakfast
The space
The Cinnamon Cottage, named for the cinnamon tree that stands by the cottage door, has been designed using the concepts of tropical modernist architecture. The space includes one large bedroom with double bed, coffee table and chairs, a modern open air bathroom, and a private outdoor veranda with views of the water and tropical garden. The bedroom windows look out over mangrove trees and on to the Bentota River, providing travellers with a sense of calm and tranquility.
The cottage is located at the bottom of a tropical garden full of fruit and spice trees. Mango, jackfruit, coconut, guava, pineapple, lemon, breadfruit, ginger, cashew, saffron, and Sri Lankan almond trees can all be found in the garden, as well as a variety of birds and animals. Chameleons, water monitors, squirrels and mongoose can often be seen, and the Bentota River is a haven for birds such as sea eagles, kingfishers, storks, cormorants and parrots.
