Nothing

What a amazing gem of a place with so much character and comfort, pictures honestly don't do it justice! We went with a group of friends and had the best time. This is the perfect space for a group stay - great indoor and outdoor space for spending time together. The hosts had also very kindly let us change dates when we needed to. Everyone is already talking about when we'll come back :)

Only thing was that the dishwasher had dirty dishes from the previous group in there. Appreciate this may have been as the new dates meant a quicker cleaning turn-over time between guests so is understandable but if it hadn't been possible to turn on the dishwasher, a head's up to do this ourselves would have been great.

The property is imposing and internally it is impressive on first entering.

The heating was off when we first arrived so quite unwelcoming, So much so, my 80 yr old father didn’t take his coat off until the next morning. The heating remained extremely awkward and it wasn’t until the 2nd morning that we cracked the NASA inspired controller. Having said that, the heating didn’t work in any of the bedrooms during our entire stay. Thankfully it wasn’t a cold snap otherwise it would have been very uncomfortable. The owners ‘stuff’ was everywhere. We found it difficult to fit our own supplies into the fridge due to all their stuff. The kitchen was cluttered with jars/bottles and all manner of sauces. There wasn’t a welcome pack and having been on the road for 7 hours, a cup of tea and a biscuit would have been fabulous. The bed linen and towels were of inferior quality and frankly had seen better days. It was £1200 for a three night stay so a little overpriced and disappointing.
