Key card lost it’s magnetic signal so couldn’t get into main door then had to find someone to help

The accommodation is a beautiful living area with a bed! Ideal for the independent traveller.

Ideal location with easy access to the town which has a good selection of eateries and independent shops. Accommodation is finished to a high standard with quality furnishings. Lovely kitchenette. Ideal set up if you just want to just come and go as you please. Added bonus is that you have an amazing restaurant and bar literally on your doorstep!!! Room key provides 24 hour access into the inn and is easy to use.

Lack of places to put wash gear etc in bathroom (other than drawer in vanity unit); not always useful or convenient of course. Could do with a shelf at least for somewhere to leave toothbrush out etc Very low lighting ( 2 lights not working) Could do with at least one brighter light.

Stylish decor but noisy bar opposite meant disturbed nights sleep

Very comfortable apartment with stylish decor and excellently equipped kitchen.

the room was very hot and muggy and there was no fan or air con. On opening the windows the bar opposite was very lively and noisy until 1-30am on Saturday night so it was difficult to get to sleep

Dark rooms, no WiFi. Couldn’t open windows on a hot night due to the non stop music from the bar and pub opposite. No staff. Very expensive. No breakfast possibilities

Massively disappointed tbh

The rooms and decor are very good and well appointed

We visited the Machine inn last year for a brilliant meal and one of the team showed us the rooms as the property was about to open for guests. We come to the Peak district every year and spoil ourselves with a top venue. We chose the Machine Inn due to the Meal we had and wanted to enjoy the food and wine without needing cabs etc. When I booked ( and in every comms since) there was no mention of the restaurant being closed. We were really disappointed but it was too late to cancel. We spent 2 nights with you (my wife is a teacher and we were looking forward to some chill time). However the Roadworks outside the window started drilling at 8:10 both mornings (again there was no prior warning to this which was very unfair IMO). On the Tuesday we had planned a drive up to Edale and do our full day walk. We were looking to leave before 11 so we could enjoy a full day. But after breakfast at another venue our key cars stopped working and we had to wait over an hour for one of your team to drive to us and let us back in the room. The Machine Inn is a lovely venue and is priced accordingly (£374 for 2 nights) - so we were disappointed that A there was a technical problem but B worse no one was close the Property to help us out. It sort of ruined our day plans. A final note was that on our last day someone testing the Fire Alarms and Smoke Detectors entered our room without knocking (and only my wife was in the room as I was packing the car). He was very apologetic but seemed completely unaware we were even in the property. I'd be interested in seeing your response and any offer for the inconvenience we suffered through our stay.

Excellent stay. Gorgeous comfortable apartment, good food in restaurant, exceptional service.

Neither thing is the the fault of the hotel, but the app for the public car park was not working effectively and there were extensive roadworks in the centre of town - these things detracted a little from the experience. The pub itself and the apartment were almost perfect - slightly quieter music in the restaurant on Saturday night, and more hooks for towels in the bathroom would be our only suggestions
