Great property. would stay again if going to Ashbourne,

Lovely modern house very quiet location. with everything needed for our stay. very close to facilities shops, pubs and restaurants. Easy walk into Ashbourne. Very easy to get in touch with owners if needed. The lady was very nice and polite. In all great property for our needs, would definitely stay again if staying in Ashbourne.

possible more wardrobe space in bedrooms 1 & 3. Also maybe tidy weeds from rear garden. Maybe fake turf especially if you were to stay in good weather when you may wish to use the outdoor space. which actually was a lovely size. Didn't spend that much time at the property as we went for a wedding. Very steep uphill walk back. but ok if you take it steady.

Family stay

We had a really lovely stay at the property. The house was spacious and comfortable – perfect for our family. The kids were happy, and we all felt very much at home. The location was great, especially being so close to Alton Towers, which made our trip even more enjoyable. Communication with the host/company was excellent throughout – clear, friendly, and helpful. Thank you for a great experience!

Brilliant wee family holiday. Cozy accommodation

The house was lovely, as depicted in the photos. Situated in a quiet estate with really friendly neighbours. Nice wee enclosed back yard with table and chairs to sit out and enjoy the evening sun. House has all the amenities that we required to cope with a family of 5. Toaster, kettle microwave, cooker and washing machine included along with all cutlery cups etc. House is close to town centre with loads of places eat. If we were going back I would definitely try to book this property again.

I had to pay a £250 deposit and give out a copy of my ID ie copy of driving license or passport. This was not in the write up prior to booking, which had it been explained I would not have booked this accommodation. I felt I was forced to give a deposit and ID as my money was non refundable.

Not new or luxurious as the title states

The location was good for Alton Towers (20 min drive), size was good for our needs (4 bedrooms), hosts were communicative. Kitchen area is large

Sadly we didn't feel that the title 'new and luxurious' was accurate at all. It's clear that this is a big company that owns this house and many others, and therefore it doesn't get the attention it needs. The cleaners are seemingly the only people that come regularly and it appeared that they aren't doing a very thorough job. Our first impressions were of the front of the house, the small patch of grass was very overgrown, and the front door is in need of a paint. Upon entering the house we were hit with a very strong musty / wet dog smell, which was strong enough that we were always aware of it when in the downstairs of the property. The rugs in the hallway and living room looked filthy and need replacing. The back garden was awful which was a shame as it was sunny and we wanted to sit out. The patio was dirty and littered with cigarette butts (not ideal when you're travelling with an inquisitive toddler) and the patio table hadn't been wiped down or cleaned. It was covered in bird poo and food / dirt from previous guests. The grass area was overgrown and there were weeds everywhere. Other issues included 'clean' kitchen towels that smelled very musty and were unusable, no soap in the downstairs bathroom, no sugar in the canister, no kitchen towels, mould in the shower, rock solid beds and huge hard pillows, dead flies in the corners of the bedroom, a broken radiator in the master bedroom that wouldn't turn off, broken blind in the master bedroom, and dirty brushes / full vacuum cleaner right next to the dining table. I wouldn't usually leave such a negative review but we really were disappointed with this experience. However the director of the company was receptive to my feedback and apologised for our experience. She said that the issues would be addressed which I hope is true, as looking back at other reviews, it seems that some of these issues have been raised previously.

Great location but disappointing service.

The location was good. It was easy to walk into Ashbourne. The property was in a quiet area. The kitchen & dining area was user friendly & opened onto a small garden with seating. Bedding & towels were good.

The 3rd bedroom was tiny & you had to climb over the double bed to get to the other side. We had to take turns in getting dressed as the space was so small! No remote control for the TV. It was replaced but didn’t work properly. All the downstairs lights fused on Friday evening & we didn’t have access the fuse box which was in a locked cupboard until Saturday morning when I contacted the company. Dirty towel hanging behind the door in bedroom three & empty beer bottle on the patio. The bin outside was already over full when we arrived on Friday so all our refuse had to be left in the house when we letting.

Lysander House was perfect for our needs, everything sparkling and new. very friendly, helpful booking team.

As we were a large party of nine and weren’t all couples, would have appreciated extra bedding, ie two single duvets per double bed. That is our only suggestion to the team.

Generally good other than the booking process.

Location good for the Tissington Trail cycle route. Quiet location away from traffic and about 10 mins walk to either the town centre or the out of town M&S food hall. The garden is useful for storing bikes. The kitchen is well equiped, but could do with some sort of scourer to be able to clean oven shelves etc (which weren't cleaned).

Booking was a massive performance. Unlike every other booking I have done with Booking.com, you then have a long convoluted process where you have to provide a scan of your driving licence, sign a rental agreement, provide a deposit. Even then you're still not finished as you have to have a video call. Whilst I can see why they want to take care over who stays, I've also got better ways of spending 1/2 hour than trying to finish a booking. Although there were two bathrooms and a toilet, there is no shaver socket so I couldn't shave or charge my toothbrush during my stay. The double bed in the master bedroom is small.

Clean and modern stay for 2 families vesting Alton Towers.

Clean and modern. The kitchen is a good size for 8 people to sit around. All the facilities are good and new. Showers were nice and powerful.

They could have told us the boiler was switched off at the mains, wasted a long time trying to get the heating to come on as instructed via the thermostat. The living room room is a bit small.

Could have done with a hand towel for each person aswell as a bath towel. A couple extra toilet rolls would have been good for 8 people.
