Great accommodation as described. Ideally placed to visit the RSPB close by with everything you need for a comfortable stay
The lock on front door was a little challenging to open once locked

Welcome pack, felt cosy once warm, hosts responded to our needs. Festive decorations were a nice touch. Great locations for visiting family.
Rental was on the cool side understood owner had control of the heating however lighting the log fire soon got it heated.

Lovely little cottage. Enjoyed the log burner which was already loaded and ready to light when we got there. It was in a lovely and quiet location. It was just like going on a very mini holiday. Had everything we needed and more for a one night stay. Would definitely stay again.
Tight to get in car park but we managed to leave car ok at the back of the cottage. It was chilly in the bedroom at night. I think the radiators were just going off when we got there about 8pm. Beds were comfy and warm so it didn't matter that it was chilly out of the bed.

The cottage had everything you need and more. There was bread, milk, butter and Jam. Perfect for me as I was so tired after my drive I couldn't be bothered to shop. The little log burner was great for a cosy evening.
I enjoyed the bath too. Nice hot water and warm bathroom with all the toiletries you need.
The bed was comfortable with plump pillows.
Would Definitely stay again when visiting family in the area.
The WiFi went off when I arrived. Nobody's fault, Stuart tried his hardest to get it on again but had to call someone out.
My first evening it was a bit chilly in the bedroom but the temperature was 3 degrees outside.

location was very quiet which suited us plus plenty of places to walk the dog our jack russell loved the nearby wood we were down to visit friends so the stables were ideal for us.

Really comfortable cosy little cottage. A real home from.home. The host was friendly and happy to help in any way he could to ensure my stay as comfortable as possible.
The only thing I can think of which would have been better was if the towels had been laundered with a softener or run through a tumble dryer to soften them as they were very rough. However, I'm very aware I'm being extremely picky.

Lovely spot in aquiet area, Comfotable and cosy. Everything you needed was there including fresh bread, milk, butter and Jam. Hot water on tap and heating randomly throughout the day and night. Lovely cosy wood burner.
No smart TV so the relaxing in front of the Tv was taxing with rubbish channels. Used my Ipad to watch Netflix.

Lovely little annexe, with all we needed for a few days stay. Log fire was a bonus, as was the bread and milk. Lots of little homely touches such as tea and coffee, toiletries, and personal hygiene products.
Not a dislike, and in no way affected our stay, but manoeuvring in and out of the yard was a little tight with cars parked in front of garages. Would also have liked instructions or tips for the log burner.

Like your own apartment, milk, bread and jam provided…. Which wasn’t expected, but very welcome.
Very cosy lounge area with a log fire, which I used!
Only negative was that it was really difficult to unlock the door in the morning. I tried several times, until it finally unlocked with the key.
Just needs a check.

Cosy living room with wood stove and TV. Bath with shower attachment. Self catering facilities, and the hosts left fresh bread, milk and a couple of other items in the fridge which was a nice touch. The location is not far off the Trans Pennine Trail which is why I picked it, and I was allowed to keep my bike in the stone flagged living room for security.
The kitchen is quite tiny, but fine for a single person and a short stopover.

It was a really lovely little cottage. Parking was good but a bit tight. We struggled, but that was due to the size of the trailer we had with us. There was bread, butter, milk, and jam waiting for us on arrival, which we didn't use. Our son has allergies, so we brought our own. Tea bags and coffee were in the cannisters. Toiletries in the bedroom and bathroom. It was a really lovely little home from home, and the extras were appreciated. The owners live next door and we had their contact details if we needed them but we're left alone for our stay which is something we like. Quiet surroundings. Free wifi. A tv and log fire. Really really lovely.
Honestly, the cottage was brilliant but our clothes did have a damp smell after being hung up for two nights.

Handy for transport routes and very clean
Nowhere obvious to walk dog. No signage outside and no information in property on how to work heating etc. Sink in bathroom too small. Sofa uncomfortable.

Peaceful and very cute. Delicious hot bath. Brown bread, strawberry jam and lurpack butter was such a treat after a long day at work.
Wi-Fi needs a boost. Minor points for improvement- bedroom needs a fold up chair and mirror at seated level. A freezer compartment with ice would have been perfect.

The location was very quiet. I occasionally heard the owners’ dog in the adjoining house and the passing trains which weren’t very loud at all.
Comfortable bed.
Plenty of very hot water but I found the shower/mixer attachment for the bath was very difficult to control and in the end no hot water was coming out of it at all. Taking a bath instead was ok but note that the bath is not full size.
Staying here was such a disappointment after all the great reviews. I’ve stayed in a lot of self catering places and this was a very poor experience. The heating arrangements were totally inadequate. As the place is advertised with radiators in every room I expected there to be a fairly constant ambient heat and that the wood burner was for extra heat/atmosphere. The central heating did not come on at all on the first evening and the owners, who were away, took over three hours to respond to my messages and did not mention that someone was coming to check the heating. It was only when I approached their dog sitter that I learnt that the owners had received my messages. The heating didn’t come on at all until 0945 the following morning and that evening not until 1845, each time for about 90 mins.
I was not expecting to have to light the wood burner every morning just to get some heat into the place. I am normally warm blooded person and don’t like my environment too hot but this place was too cold. I was diagnosed with pneumonia after my stay.

You had a separate lounge, kitchen, bathroom and bedroom all for the price was good value for money. Also extra little touches left.

Lovely location with walks through Wombwell Woods across the road.
Great to use log burner stove in the evening.

Peaceful and very relaxing atmosphere. Logs supplied for fire and fire was ready to light on arrival.
All you need or an overnight stop was there. Milk bread and butter and even eggs also very handy thank you.
We enjoyed walking through the fields and sitting in the courtyard watching the baby bluetits constantly in and out of their box opposite our seats, busily feeding chicks.
Ideal for dogs, as the field has the cutest little walk right outside the doorstep. taking you near to a railway line where there are numerous trees for birdwatching all along the track in the near distance. we didnt go to the forest which is another option if you like other dogs,, the field little track was more private, and the barley was lovely blowing in the wind.
We enjoyed everything there. It is perfect for us for an overnight stop on our way up north and back on the A1.
We would love to return. x

Lovely peaceful location
The owner lives next door. On leaving he was very rude. And physically attacked my partner. Was swearing and grabbed him by the throat. Will not go back for that reason.

The cottage was authentic with orginal stone walls and floors, but had all modern appliances and was well stocked. The owner left bread, butter and milk which was very welcome. The location was perfect for dog walks as it was opposite a large woods with fishing lakes, beautiful.
The cottage was cold when the heating wasn't on but warmed up quickly when it was. The location was too far to walk to any amenities so we had to get in a car every time we wanted to go out further.

Peaceful location, cute accommodation and very cozy with the fire on in the evening. Thoughtful leaving even bread, butter, jam, milk, tea coffee etc for guests.
Nothing really. Perhaps would have been nice if the fence wasn't there so we could see across the fields in the evening but there was a track along side so perhaps anyone walking would see in.

Convenient location for us. It was great to have a little kitchenette because we were travelling with small children.
We put the children in the bedroom and we slept on the sofa bed. The sofa bed was VERY uncomfortable. The bed slants downwards at the head (we stuffed with pillows to flatten it out a bit). Then when sleeping, the bars can be felt through the mattress which were very uncomfortable. We considered putting the mattress on the floor but it was too cold as the mattress was thin.

Ideal for two, great location for touring. Nice features, small kitchen, no oven but this was advertised. Plenty of very hot water. Need thick socks or slippers as the floors are flagged!
