We absolutely loved our stay at Countesses Villa. The location is outstanding, with breathtaking views that we never got tired of admiring. The villa is beautifully designed, tastefully decorated, and feels both luxurious and incredibly welcoming at the same time. Everything has been thought through with great care and attention to detail. The villa is equipped with absolutely everything you could need for a comfortable stay – and even more than expected. From the moment we arrived, it felt less like a holiday rental and more like moving from one beautiful home into another, only a more luxurious version. The communication and instructions were excellent, making arrival and check-in effortless. The hosts were friendly, responsive, and clearly take great pride in creating a wonderful experience for their guests. The villa has character, warmth, and style. It is spotless, comfortable, peaceful, and perfectly located for exploring Madeira. We genuinely felt at home from day one and enjoyed every moment of our stay.

Honestly, nothing at all. We could not find a single fault with the villa, the location, or the overall experience.

Other than that the villa is near perfect. The spacious living area provided ample room for relaxation and a comfortable home-away-from-home feel. The master bedroom boasted its own spacious bathroom with a jacuzzi bathtub, while it is somewhat dated yet functional. The second bathroom has been updated. The location was ideal, conveniently situated near all our essential needs. Easy access to Funchal and central access to hike trails, beaches, restaurants, shopping centers, and more made our stay truly enjoyable. Despite the more hectic traffic and narrow mountain roads in Madeira than one might be used to, the villa offered a refreshing escape. Although the parking was uphill and backward, the breathtaking view from the villa’s balconies made it worth the effort. The higher elevation also ensured fresh winds that kept the villa cool and pleasant throughout our first week when the temperatures were lower. What truly impressed us was the immaculate cleanliness of the apartment. Every corner was spotless, indicating the meticulous care taken to maintain the property. While the kitchen equipment could benefit from an upgrade, we purchased new knives and pans to enable us to cook some delicious meals. While the villa itself was great, the misleading description and lack of proper cooling made our stay extremely uncomfortable. I would not recommend this property to anyone traveling in the hot summer months when airconditioning is required unless warm bedrooms aren’t an issue.

We booked this villa specifically, even though it was more expensive, because it was advertised as air-conditioned, which was a top priority for us given the summer heat. Unfortunately, upon arrival, we discovered that only one out of the three bedrooms actually had air conditioning. The children’s bedroom reached temperatures of over 30°C, making it completely unsuitable for sleeping. After contacting the owner via WhatsApp, they confirmed that the listing was inaccurate and that they needed to change the listing on Booking.com. This was incredibly frustrating, especially since we had filtered our search to include only properties with full bedroom air conditioning. At our request a fan was brought by but this was inadequate to deal with the heat. During the second week, the heat became unbearable, and we had no choice but to move all the mattresses into the one air-conditioned room so we could all sleep there. This was far from the relaxing and comfortable holiday we had planned.
