Casa do Pico

This is really stunning place at the top of the mountain, with unbeatable and unbelievable view. House may feel outdated, but working jacuzzi compensates it really well. Host is friendly and helpful, lives nearby - but does not come without permission. Fantastic place if you wanted relaxing holiday with stunning views. Another important point. Even though this seems to be remote location, it's ideally located to visit three places: cable car plus beach (few minutes walk from the property), village (30 mins walk), and Cabo Girao Skywalk (about 45 mins walk). So even though this might look like a remote place to relax in peace - you can still find great places to visit, all within the hiking distance! Property also comes with cute but clever company-seeking cat who will harass you to feed her, but then stays to entertain you Overall, this property deserves rating of 15 out of 10.

Kitchen might not look as glamour as you'd except - however, it's really minor thing because it's the best equipped kitchen i've seen in many years - so who cares how it looks! Also, supermarket is pretty far (down in the village) - so you need to either have car or take taxi, you won't be able to carry all your shopping from the village (but that's the other side of being at the top of a mountain, right?)

The property is set high in the mountains so there are amazing views from the balcony and great when using hot tub. You can walk down to the village area to the restaurant with a stunning view . The property is charming and ideal for pure relaxation .The host and his dad were very helpful and responded quickly to questions. Pleasant family! We had a great stay. Loved the local surroundings!

The decor and rooms were very out dated with bedding and towels quite old. However it was fully stocked with everything you would need- plenty of towels and pots and pans etc It is a remote area so need to stock up on food and drinks. Driving up and down from the property requires skill as the roads are narrow and high up.

Vistas impresionantes! La casa muy espaciosa y muy práctica. Volvería sin duda!

The view from the terrace

The kitchen is very old. Every single cupboard has a strong smell of mould. The cooker didn't work. Oven was completely off. Could do with some heating. The main gate was stuck, and we had to force it to open it. All the doors need some oils. You couldn't close the bathroom door unless you slammed it, and the flush was broken. It needs proper maintenance.
