Auberge de jeunesse HI Avignon

The youth hostel is located on one of the main streets of Avignon making it a perfect spot to visit the city by foot! The staff members were really nice and helpful. We really enjoyed the chill and relaxing aura of the place; especially during breakfast time, when it was, unexpectedly, very easy to talk with the other tourists coming from all over the world. The room wasn't spotless but well cleaned and comfortable. We had a private bathroom and a soft double bed. Air conditioning function just fine.

Unlucky the bathroom had no soap when we arrived but the staff was quick to find us one. On the other hand, bathroom towels had to be brought by home. You could also ask for some if you forgot them but they would be charged. Not to bad considering that it is a youth hostel, but we wold have liked at least one hand towel. Our room was on the fourth floor and, since the elevator is very small, just one person with the luggage could go in at a time. Not too big of a deal if you are fit or if you dont mind waiting, but surely a bit uncomfortable if you have lot of stuff with you or if you have a stroller, bike,...

There was little to like about this shabby unrenovated and dirty establishment, but at least the beds were moderately comfortable, there was air-conditioning, and the linen was clean.

This is written from the perspective of someone who booked a double room with an ensuite bathroom. I expected the minimum standard of facilities, as promised by the Booking.com listing for this property. Contrary to the listing however, towels and soap were not provided with the ensuite bathroom. You could rent a towel for an extra 4.50 Euro. There did not appear to be an TV of any description in the whole establishment, let alone in the room I booked. The condition of the room left a lot to be desired. The low ceiling had been roughly patched up and there was an unfinished light fitting with wires visible. There was roller blind on the west facing window which did not retract. The air conditioning unit dripped water steadily onto the stained floor and blasted out air at gale force. The unit was centrally controlled so we could do nothing about it. Raising the issue with the front desk was met with scepticism and a shrug of the shoulders. The limited facilities would not surprise a regular user of Auberges de Jeunesse, although the dirtiness of the public areas would be. The point is Booking.com has no business representing this place as offering things which it does not in fact offer, particularly as other establishments of this sort (eg Sydney Harbour YHA) do offer the option of a hotel-standard room. The included breakfast was meagre. There were no pastries (a first in my experience of France). There was no attempt to replenish meat and cheese when they ran out before breakfast time ended. The same dried out pieces of bread sat there from day to day. The staff were young and seemed to have little or no training. They ranged from the friendly and helpful to the surly and indifferent. All of this is OK if you are a young traveller sharing dorm accommodation at appropriate prices. But it is nowhere near the standard of even a 2-star hotel by French standards if you pay for a private room with ensuite.

The location was perfect, in the centre! The breakfast was included which is ideal, and the stuff was always present and helpful.

A kitchen would be ideal.

The dining area was awesome, loved their design, great breakfast included of yogurt and baguettes with butter and jelly, applesauce, cereal, juice and coffee. The staff were delightful, I was comfortable, location is very close to the train station and everything else.

There was no public fridge or public cooking area (there was a microwave available however).

Centrally located. Facilities are basic but all good as per described.

Obiekt może potrzebować nieco renowacji, ale ogólnie było czysto i schludnie.

Le petit déjeuner est quelconque, mais appréciable pour le prix d'une nuit. Les hôtes sont très accueillants.

Le bâtiment est un peu vétuste.

L’ostello è in centro città ,quindi la posizione è ottima. La nostra stanza era grande col bagno, letti comodi. Lo staff super-gentile e disponibile. La colazione era particolarmente buona con prodotti freschi,locali.

4piani di scale con un ascensore (montacarichi) alquanto poco affidabile e di ridotte dimensioni (il passeggino dovevo chiuderlo ogni volta). Il costo degli asciugamani a parte (4€ l’uno) Avendo pagato comunque per una notte 64€ non mi aspettano di non avere neanche gli asciugami

Authentisch-freundliches Personal. Perfekte Lage. Frühstück simpel. Räume relativ wenig beheizt (wie auch andere Gebäude dort), extra Decke wurde angeboten.

Das Personal war ausgesprochen freundlich, da ich sehr früh abgereist bin, hat mir eine sehr liebe junge Dame ein Frühstück eingepackt und die Kaffeemaschine nicht ausgeschaltet, wie üblich.

Im Bad und WC war es recht kühl

Nous n avions vraiment pas beaucoup d eau chaude, aucune prise électrique ne fonctionnait, traces de dentifrice dans le lavabo, peintures cloquées, bâtiment vétuste, fuite au lavabo dessous et robinet qui eclabousse partout.

위치가 아주 좋았습니다. 역에서도 가깝고, 교황청이나 구도심 안에서 걸어서 관광하기도 좋았고, 근처에 마트와 레스토랑도 많아 불편함없이 지낼 수 있었어요. 조식도 간단하게 먹기에 좋았습니다. 넓은 라운지에서 휴식을 할 수도 있고, 짐보관 서비스도 추가요금 없이 잘 해주셨습니다.

샤워시설이 조금 깨끗했으면 했습니다 :)

La grande salle bar et accueil, propre et plutôt bien aménagée. La possibilité de mettre son vélo dans un lieu fermé.

No hay cortina en la ducha. Deben poner un cubo y fregona para secar el suelo y evitar resbalarse. Faltan toalleros.

Einfache Unterkunft im Herzen von Avignon. Die Lage ist super zentral. Alles ist perfekt zu Fuß erreichbar. Wir konnten unserer Fahrräder sicher über Nacht in einem separatem Raum einstellen. Das war sehr schön. Die Begrüßung in der Lobby war sehr herzlich und hatte absoluten Jugendherbergs Charme. Man kommt sehr schnell ins Gespräch mit anderen Reisenden.

Das Zimmer war doch sehr einfach und im 4. Stock mit einem mini Fenster ausgestattet. Das Frühstück war sehr einfach und funktionell. Das ist in einer deutschen oder niederländischen Jugendherberge deutlich besser.

Le personnel était très sympa, particulièrement la personne faisant le Check-in. L’emplacement était également idéal, en plein cœur du centre historique.

Les chambres étant côté rue, c’est des fois un peu bruyant la nuit.

Läget perfekt i centrum och med gångavstånd från tågstationen. Enkelt men rent och fräscht. Tillmötesgående personal, luftkonditionering och bagagerum. Frukosten enkel men helt ok.

Det hade varit önskvärt med läslampor vid sängarna.

Bien situé : proche de la gare et juste à coté de la vieille ville.

L’habitació tenia mobiliari espatllat, les aixetes no funcionaven bé, els panys de la porta estan espatllats, s’ha de pagar per les tovalloles, l’esmorzar és pobre.

Très bien placé entre la gare et le Palais des Papes. Bon accueil et chambre individuelle au 4e étage très confortable avec sa salle de bains et sa clim. Jolie salle d'accueil et de petit déjeuner compris dans le prix avec de bons produits.
