OBT Homestay and Bungalows

We were truly surprised by this wonderful homestay, which turned out to be so much more than just a place to stay. It is also a learning centre where volunteers teach English to 267 local children from 9 different villages after school. Discovering this project made our stay even more special! The homestay is located in a neighbouring village, away from the busy town centre, making it a peaceful and authentic place to stay. Riding our motorbike through the village, we loved hearing local people laughing, chatting, and singing in front of their homes. It gave us a beautiful glimpse into everyday Cambodian life. The accommodation itself is lovely, with several charming bungalows, each with a veranda and hammocks where you can relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. The rooms are simple but comfortable, with a bed, mosquito net, a power outlet next to the bed, a fan, and a private bathroom. We had both dinner and breakfast there, lovingly prepared by the owner’s wife, and the food was delicious. The following day, they kindly showed us around the school, the classrooms, and all the wonderful initiatives they run for the local community. We also got to see their animal farming activities, including chickens, ducks, and frogs. In the afternoon, we even joined them and some of their friends for karaoke, which was such a fun and memorable experience! But what really makes this place special is the people. The staff are absolutely wonderful, always ready to help, welcoming, and genuinely kind. You can feel how much heart and dedication they put into everything they do. If you’re looking for an authentic experience, a peaceful place to stay, and the opportunity to discover a meaningful local project, I cannot recommend this homestay enough. We left with beautiful memories and so much appreciation for these amazing people. Highly recommended! ❤️

The staff were so friendly and accommodating. At short notice, they even made a vegetarian meal for one of us. Value was fantastic for this unique place who give back to the community.

Être proche des habitants du village et de ceux qui font vivre cette association avec cœur: centre d’enseignement, projets du village (filtration de l’eau, recyclage, élevage de grenouilles et poulet pour le restaurant) et avoir avec eux des échanges très authentiques. Un moment rare! Activités de pêche, cours de cuisine, balade dans les environs, vie du village…. Bungalow familial pour 4 charmant.

Il faut être ok pour un confort modeste. Mais tout est très propre.

L’authenticité et la gentillesse de l’équipe qui gère cet endroit. Des bungalows simples et propres dans la campagne. L’équipe encadre aussi une école pour permettre eux enfants d’avoir accès à des cours d’anglais, d’informatique et d’art et leur permettre d’avoir un avenir meilleur, Les prix des hébergements sont très raisonnables ce qui peut vous permettre de laisser un don pour l’école.
